JFK was awesome, obviously.
FDR wins as best president, hands down.
Some people may add Lincoln to that list, but he only campaigned to win and he didn't really stand behind his supposed values. In the end that entire affair was all about money.
Kennedy was really good domestically, but he was pretty terrible on foreign policy. He basically got swept along into a bunch of ridiculously terrible shit thanks to the CIA. Plus one could reasonable dislike him for being responsible for LBJ becoming President.
And duh FDR is number one. The most socialist President ever probably saved America from a real socialist revolution IRONICALLY.
You just say that about Kennedy because he was Irish. Damn racists.
I'll go classic and say George Washington, because anyone who can beat the superpower of that time period, turn a bunch of rebels into an organized force, start a future global superpower from scratch, remain a figure of admiration and guidance for almost 250 years and endure the harsh turmoil of first beating the British and then ruling a new, still chaotic and immature country for eight years has to be worth something big.
And he's kinda hot for a dead guy.
James K. Polk is pretty underrated.
Pro-slavery and Manifest Destiny. Thumbs down.
Yeah, but he expanded the US by a lot in just one term. :/
Gerald Ford, just because no one ever says Gerald Ford.
Well he didn't do a whole lot, so that means he's likely better than most Presidents. He didn't screw up TOO much and did a few alright things. Top 10 probably.
Now I'm in no real place to be the judge of this, considering having only approval statistics and my limited knowledge of the history of their actions at my dispense. I can't truly know how capable and how well these men did their jobs, maybe because I've never been under their presidency and without true understanding of their impacts. Even so, in my place, I think I would say Franklin D. Roosevelt was perhaps the most able and commendable, Jefferson for the Declaration of Independence and Louisiana Purchase, and even Nixon with his successful putting an end to the Vietnam War, beginning an extremely important relationship with the founded PR of China in that very delicate time where the nation had almost completely shut off all contact with the outside world since the takeover of the Nationalist Party which America was supporting, and boosting the relationship with the USSR with his foreign policies. The Watergate Scandal was a bit of a downfall though. I really disliked Reagen's libertarian, thatcherist and monetarian economic policies.
Nixon lied to us on TV.
If we are nominating liars and cheats, I'd like to put Bill Clinton up there. He oozed charm (as well as other substances onto dresses which will go unnamed) and had great PR. He kept us out of war.

^ Cracked's list of the 5 most badass presidents of all time.
I remember the Clinton Administration pretty fondly. He was President throughout most of my childhood and his wacky antics always amused me. He was a charming mofo, that guy. Still, JFK bagged Marilyn Monroe, Clinton bagged...Monica Lewinsky.
JFK wins for being more attractive, more charming and more better.
Clinton was sorta hot in his administration, for an old guy. He was also very charming. I think he's losing his cotton picking mind though.
obama is better looking than both of them
Not better than JFK, but better than Bill, certainly.
Perhaps equal charm with JFK as well. Let's see who he has an affair with.
My mom said she is afraid to vote for him because he is too much like JFK, too much controversy, and she is worried he'll get killed.
its pretty hard to kill a president these days
It sure is.
Martin Van Buren all the way.
Fellatio in the Oval Office wins it for me.
