Religion

I just need to ask all of you with a religion a question,Why do you have that religion.
I don't have a religion and i don't belive in god,

I want to know why you lead your live's full of false hope.
It was my brthday yesterday and i spent all night talking about it with my dad.
You people live your live's according to a book,Start wars over the same religion that has been edited into many diffrent religions.It makes no sense

Nomatter how bad my life was i woulden't want to live my life hoping for something(heaven and hell/afterlife).
That would not happen.
If you have your own opinions i would like to hear them.
-mine is that religion is just a reason to hide the real facts that there is nothing after death and to give people false hope

There is a perfectly good reason to believe in God. If you hate Christianity, so do a lot of people, but it's done many great things and people can't just announce it non-existant. If it's Christianity you're hating, Pikatwo will be here in a few seconds to agree with you. But the idea of religion is fine, I mean you may not know a God exists and he may not actually grant your prayers but it does have a psychological effect.

You should both read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.

Religion is (I'm sorry) a stupid concept put in place by people who intended to dupe the masses and lead the sheep. I don't need a shepherd.

Don't get me wrong,I don't hate any religion's.
I used to go to a church of england primary school

It seems i agree,with keke le cat.It was created to keep order and controll the people in those times.
It seems they wanted to have power and by promising afterlife if they joined religion they would be under servitude.

The religion i can see,but why people actually belive god exists i dont understand

Hicky, I have never claimed that I hate Christianity. I hate Christian fundamentalists. I have no problem with people practicing their religions so long as they keep their beliefs out of my face and respect my rights to freedom from religion as much as I respect their rights TO religion. When morons start showing up on my doorstep at 7AM in the morning on Saturday to start evangelising, start screaming that I'm going to Hell for being an atheist, that I'm somehow devoid of morals because I don't believe in a God and have no religion or start trying to use logic to prove the existence of their God then fall back on the whole 'faith' thing when they're backed into a corner, that's when I start getting pissed off. And those are just to name a few.

Boring subject, deadhorse subject, feel free to knock yourselves out in the debate board.

Atheism makes reality more complicated to explain but is easier to justify.

I think most religions are just ancient stories that have stuck with us throughout the ages (since we humans love stories as a whole) and it's just been blow out of proportions. I think very early religion (in more superstitious times) were stories told to solve life's many mysteries--such as death--in a way that could relatively be believed by many and help make people content with the idea.

But as science replaces religion, the Bible is just becoming more and more a novel like any other. It's just perhaps the oldest surviving novel in history.

We should get someone from The New York Times to review the bible sometime.

Claiming PD is full of religious people is like blaming PETA protesters for eating meat.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

god religion is the most boring topic in all the world and all the most boring people like to debate about it
