They made the english names that way cause they were probaly too damn LAZY to make real english names for them!

The English names are pretty gay. Piplup? LICKILICKY?? What the hell were they thinking?? And all the names are now obnoxiously cute! WHAT THE HELL.

If a group of Japanese kids learn fluent English and come over here and hear the English names, they are going to keep a lookout for the next kid they see with anything Pokemon, and as a group, they are going to all point at the kid and laugh long and heartily. And I won't blame them one bit.
