Strange, the first thing I think of when you ask me to reminisce is that of two new members, usually girls aged about 11-13, arguing about who 'stole' the other's spriting style creations. And then putting "I INVENTED THIS DO NOT STEAL!!!!!!!"
Like "I INVENTED FOSSIL POKEMON WHY DO YOU HAVE IT ON YOUR SHOP!!!"
"NOOOOO I LEARNT IT ON ANOTHER FORUM A LOOOOONG TIME AGO, IT'S NOT YOURS!"
...yeah.
What I liked was me and Ed gradually splicing pokemon stuff with non-pokemon stuff though. :D Like I still remember the Hello Kitty/Houndoom. :X And Advanced Wars, of course.
What did happen to all the spriting?
It died... :(
It's due for a come back, so don't fret.
I started a new shop a couple months back. got two requests, got one done, was too lazy to post it (still have it tho), and was too lazy to even get the sprites for the second one.
And i still remember my very first attempts to sprite. I failed so hard, but then ed and a few others showed me the way. That reminds me. we should do some kind of tribute for all the spritist who are no longer with us, such as myuu, mex, kelsh, and idk who else sprited in those lost days.
Wooooow! I miss those spriting days. Too bad people move on to photoshop. I never open my 'paint' ever since :'(
I open it if I'm editing things. I find it easier to use than GIMP for that kind of thing. I only use GIMP for making TCs.
GIMP is too complex for spriting. I use paint for everything.
Gotta love layers, though.
I have this nice idea for Midnight's Kyodon but I'm too lazy to get it done.
