Nah... It's novel and I like it.. It's good for a robot and since it's just you doing it, it stands out without being annoying.
Oh, if you guys want anything for the Lair... we can scavenge between missions and during missions. And once the Power gets turned back on there will be some...surprises.

Hmm... MAYBE... actually that might not be a bad idea... this is set up similar to a comic book series. If everyone else thinks it's a good idea you COULD do a spin off... take anyone who wants to come off on a side quest to go scrounging around for furniture and tech and the like... NOTHING big.. and don't do anything plot altering.. like for the time being don't fight anything more than SynthSoldiers and the Occasional Nihlorn... capturing or killing too many of them casually this early in the game makes them seem like a nonthreat... and would realistically bring the might of their army down on our little safe house.
ANd in addition to the Nihlorn and their troops.. there are still people in this part of the town, some of them are going to be hostile looters... maybe even the occasional powered villain that DIDN'T join the Necessary Evils.

Super-speed, super-scent, above average hearing and sight.
Origin: Working in his lab, doing genetic testing on a fox, the chemical he was experimenting with was spilled. During a clean-up mishap, Gil mistakenly swallowed a small amount of soiled fox DNA debris.
A month or so later, he woke up on a very fine morning covered in fur and in what appeared to be a den with a very attractive little red fox. He liked her very much. It didn't seem strange at first, until he remembered that he was supposed to be human.
Now when he shifts back, his eyes and teeth stay much the same as when he is in animal form.

Nihlorn Invasion Data: Results of SouthRound Area SynthSoldier Autopsy compounded with Knowledge gained from Nihlorn Mind Search
The SynthSoldier is a combination robotics and human organ grafting. The thing uses a functioning human brain as it's computer and a human heart to keep the brain functioning and to act as a power source.
This particular model has a ceramic plating, and the wiring is made from an unknown element. The ceramic resists heat and cold extremely well, and is a very poor conductor. However, this model seems to have thinner plating than what is feasible for it, making attacks on the chest area with bladed weapons a viable option. This seems to suggest that the units in this area are a lesser degree of SynthSoldier, economic units assigned to a low priority area.
From the Nihlorn's Mind more information about the SynthSoldiers can be gained. The human brains are preserved, the donor is never actually killed, it's mind still functioning perfectly. Parts of the brain ARE overwritten, locking the human inside from taking any meaningful action. However it appears that the mind is fully functioning and the human brain used to run the SynthSoldier is fully aware of what has happened to it, and everything it's new body does. Trapped inside until death and unable to do anything but witness atrocities and silently scream. It is likely, fortunately, that most go mad before long, sparing them a real understanding of what is happening to them, but without further study, one can't be sure.

The anti-Redd you might say. He won't be showing up much, but an antagonist character is always a useful plot device.
Qoorl, wanna go with that Dr Fox did the autopsy? That was one of the chief motivators in making the character. We have a medic, and a twisted scientist with a grasp on the manipulation of DNA on board. That should be useful, since it is one of the bends of the enemy.
Also, he's cute.
