Here we're gonna discuss Exalted, my current favorite RP setting... Oh by the way, if and when I do make it to the con this June... y'all are playing fucking Exalted...
So the premise of the world is a mix of Korean Historical Drama, Classical Mythology, and Over the Top Anime... Before there was anything that mattered, there was the Wyld. THat's all there was... the Wyld is pure idea/creative force... anything can exist there but not for long, because everything is mutable.. The Fair Folk lived there... led by their nobility, the Raksha. Then the Primordials came and made form... They were beings of near limitless power each of them composed of multiple souls. They were fickle and prone to Chaos almost as much as the Fair Folk, but they wanted to make something damnit... and they did. THey formed Creation.. a flat world with five poles.
In the Center of Creation was the Elemental Pole of Earth... with a great mountain, surrounded by an inland sea. To the North.. the Elemental Pole of Ice... the further north one goes, the closer to the Wyld they get, and the more like the element the surroundings become, ergo the north eventuall become nothing but ice before melting into the Wyld. To the East- Wood, Fire to the South, and Water to the East.
Once they had Creation, the Primordials created life... including humanity. But they decided they couldn't be bothered running things, and so the Primordials created thousands of Gods and Spirits to oversee Creation in a Giant Cellestial Beuracracy. Then the Primordials went back to Yu-Shan.. the heavens above, to play the Games of Divinity and leave the task or running things to the gods....
Things didn't stay that way for long however. When the Primordials DIDN'T play the Games of Divinity they would come to Creation and wreak havoc. Eventually the gods grew tired of it all... working only to see their masters destroy half of what they had done... they were also jealous... they coveted the Games of Divinity and so they conspired to overthrow the Primordials....
Problem. The Gods were specifically Geased to be unable to directly oppose the Primordials... and so they thought up a plan. More details later... Discuss.
So the PLan... they couldn't attack the Primordials Directly but they could get someone else to do it. And so the most powerful gods conspired with two of Primordials and imbued some of Humanity with their own divine power...
THe Unconquered Sun imbued the Solar Exalted... the most powerful of the Exalted, they were meant to be the leaders of the effort, and to rule on Creation when victory had been taken.
Luna, the Moon imbued the Lunar Exalted... Able to alter their shape and become like the beasts... They were designed to be the generals, cohorts, and mates of Solars.
The Five Maidens (who represent Planets for some weird reason as well as the Fates) knew that the Solars would need advisors, and so they imparted their wisdom, creating the Sidereal Exalted. THe Sidereals were also tasked with maintaining the Loom of Fate and making sure that the future went as it was supposed too.
The Elemental Dragons created the Terrestial Exalted... beings that exhibited traits of the five elements. The Terrestrial... or Dragon-Blooded as they were to be called were the weakest of the Exalted, but they most numerous. Also because they didn;t contain the same amount of divine power... that power was able to be passed along through their bloodline, spawning new Dragon Bloods while the Other Exalts simply had their power reincarnated into another being.
Well the Exalted went to war against the Primordials... and in the end they were victorious... A few of the Primordials were killed... and their death created the Underworld... the land of the dead, their bodies become the strangely sleeping Neverborn... beings that slumbered in the vast Labrynths of the Underworld but dreamed constantly of dragging all Creation into Oblivion.
The other Primordials surrendered and their bodies and very concepts were twisted and shaped... They became the Yozi, and the most powerful among them were malleated further, becoming Malfeas a sort of Hell/Living Prison to trap the former Primordials....
Victorious the Exalted were given Creation while the Gods retreated to Yu-Shan, both to run the Cellestial Beauracracy and play the Games of Divinity... It was the begining of a Golden Age... The Glorious First Age. It wasn't to last however...
The Primordials that were destroyed cursed the Exalted as they died and their bodies became the Neverborn. The Great Curse led eventually to the End of the First Age... and to the Usurpation. More details later.. continue to discuss.
No discuss yet? Perhaps you need more details...
The Great Curse... no one on Creation actually knew of it, it was whispered in the dying breaths of the Primordials... but it was sutble and insidious.. the passions of the Solar became their undoing. Their Virtues were their strength and their weakness... if a Solar denied the needs of his greatest Virtue it would slowly build up inside of him... THe Virtues of Valor, Compassion, Temperance, and Conviction each had their own deadly edge... Valor for instance... if a Solar had a chance to be brave... to go out and fight a glorious battle.. normally he or she would do just that, but suppose he had a wedding to go too.. or the glorious battle was against an invincible six year old girl... well he might pass up the opportunity and it would build up...until it burst, causing Valor to override all other thought in a spectacular fashion... perhaps his valor would flee him and he in turn would become a magnificient coward, avoiding all confrontation... or perhaps it would well up and make him a bloodthirsty mindless killer. This would pass of course but the more things like that happened, the more people worried...
With their passions constantly gnawing at them, and Creation more or less settled in and taking care of itself, the Solar became careless... they spent more time lording over people, or engaging in petty scemes and decadences... The Sidereals look to the Loom of Fate and saw that the Solar would bring disaster if they went unchecked... (here tragedy strikes again... the Sidereals suffered from the most subtle of the Primordials curses... Once they set to a certain course of action they believed firmly that their solution was the only one... they could listen to no other reason and so...) The Sidereals came up with a plan. The Solars were too dangerous to continue to live. They schemed with the Terrestrial Exalted and planned to Usurp the power of the Solar...with trickery and force of numbers, the Dragon Blooded rose up and murdered all of the Solars... Many of the Lunar stayed with their spouses to the end and were murdered...the rest fled into the Wyld, disappearing from the world for the time being. With the other Exalts gone, the Siderals altered the Loom of Fate, to hide both their hand in the Usurpation and their existence.... they faded into the annals of history while still being able to walk abroad and influence the decisions of Creation's new Rulers... the Terrestrial Exalted.
But what about that Reincarnation thing? Wouldn't the Solars just come back in new Bodies? Yep... and so the Sidereals did Two more things.. they built a great Jade Prison and hid it deep beneath the Western Sea... it captured the Essences of all the Slain Exalted. Then they convinced the Dragon Blooded to form the Wyld Hunt... an organization that would stamp out any Solar or Lunar that suddenly exalted anywhere in creation. So with History rewritten, the Solar and Lunar were labeled Anathema... horrible monsters that nearly destroyed the world until the children of the Elemental Dragons rose up and cast them down...
baby i love you and the game seems cool... but that is just a picture of a naked furry chick.

Harmonious Jade. Child of the unconquered sun.
Her story: sold to the slave-markets by her mother's midwife, she was trained in the art of assassination and stealth for a group called Salmalin (a group of yozi-worshipers). On a mission to kill a magistrate she was chosen by the unconquered sun. When she told her masters what had happened they turned on her. She escaped after killing her tutor. She now roams the world looking for her purpose and working as a freelance mercenary.
