I was going through my old emails the other day and found this. Apparently I just hit my 5 year. :D Of course, I lurked on the Drawing Boards for a few months beforehand...

I just don't get how people use the drawing boards on PD. I mean seriously.

It's not hard. Basically it was MS Paint with a chat room attached to it. It could only fit a certain number of users at a time, so if all the boards were full you were SOL. If you were lucky enough to find a dead room, you could doodle, and maybe have a decent chat with someone.

Most of the time though, it was a bunch of people being stupid and immature. I gotta say, I did have a few good times with some people. That's what made me join the Forum.

Or do you mean, you hate it therefore you couldn't understand why people would go there?

I joined ages before that, but I missed a lot of the years inbetween. Hence the confusion.

Well, I was technologically challenged in High School, so chat rooms were the bomb to me back then. That, and the idea of showing off my mad drawing skillz to the random masses really appealed to me. Forums were a new thing to me too, and the DB chats were just easier to navigate.

Yeah, I craved attention and approval in HS something fierce, even if it was from the Internet. >_>

drawing boards hahahaha

i didn't get the concept at first, so i would unwittingly erase people's drawings and they would all be like "WHAT THE FUCK!!! WHO ERASED MY SHIT??!" and i never actually realized what i was doing. i thought i was being hacked at first when drawings started to appear out of nowhere. hahah

trolling the drawing boards was awesome for a couple weeks once we discovered them

except i didn't do it on purpose, which is significantly less awesome
