Not going to lie, this is pretty fucking retarded, for BOTH sides. Even I, a radical liberal can see there needs to be a compromise where you do BOTH. The government needs to increase taxes AND cut spending, thats the only way you can save money without radical tax increases or huge cuts. But no, niether party want to get off there high horse and compromise.
Huge cuts could be made that wouldn't affect the quality of life for Joe Taxpayer one iota. Get rid of the TSA, get rid of Homeland Security, bring the troops home, downsize the detrimental federal department of education, the list goes on.
But why!? You do realize taxes are at there lowest rate in US history since the 20s. Why make huge as shit cuts for things we need such as education and the military, when you could go for a modest tax increase and modest cuts. It doesn't make any logical sense to not increase taxes and make big cuts, just for the sake of not increasing them.Quote:

no no, do you remember the gay bomb that the military tried to make. There is a lot of wasteful spending in the defense area. We are in a fucking recession and we lack blue collar jobs. Increasing taxes means not getting re-elected. I really would do something about companies going over seas. I figure one good thing can come out of this debt crisis.
If the US totally breaks down that will alow a 3rd party that has some ball to get in office and actually do something.
Cutting spending doesn't matter is you don't have the money to begin with. Its like a 5 person family, that refuses to let the mother work, and the dad is always complaining about the cost in food and how he can barely pay it. The solution should seem simple, make the mom work. Elected officals have to suck to up and increase taxes to a reasonable level that we haven't seen since the Clinton era.
And people please stop giving examples of things that cost too much and are useless, and using them as a way to somehow say you shouldn't increase taxes, because if you think about it, that doesn't make any logical sense. Thats just an arguement to cut spending on X thing, it has nothing to do with taxes.
Fact is there is no reason not to increase taxes aside from not getting elected, and besides, your elected to lead, not to obey. There is a very stricking diference between the 2.
