Why should morals affect government and who decides what is moral and immoral?
yep
A flat tax would affect the poor more negatively than an income tax, but at the same time it might inspire people to get higher paying jobs so they keep more net income...
no it wouldnt pichubro that literally makes no sense. no one is discouraged from getting a higher paying job because of taxes thats just an imaginary idea conservatives invented. "boy oh boy it would be nice to trade in this burger king job for being a chemical engineer but i dont know about all them new taxes"
To be honest I don't care what the tax rate is.
Bahahaha
I just wish that the money was used more responsibly though at times. That is all.
thats a flat tax. 10% of income no matter how much income you have etc. its a terrible idea. currently the rich pay around 36% on most of their income. the poor cannot feasibly pay that level of effective tax. it would have to be lowered to a level where those with the lowest income can reasonbly pay and still be able to survive, which would drop the tax rate on the rich as well and thus cut revenue significantly.
With tax loopholes most rich people pay 15%...
The loophole being...
Money from stocks? I'm not sure if that is taxed or not.
so many stupid people in this topic
also i dont know what obamacare actually is. elaborate.
Rayne for most egotistical PD user
No Justin it is not a flat tax.
The rich and the poor pay a lower tax rate, with the middle paying the most.
Well as I heard the main point behind obamacare is lowering the ridiculous ban health insurance companies have on pre-existing conditions, and the forcing of americans to buy health care is a bit of a side show. I don't even understand the problem with forcing people to buy insurance. We do the same thing with cars.
Having a car is a choice.
that's horrid justification. you could stay in a bubble all your life and never require health insurance.
... The difference is that everyone goes to a hospital eventually whereas you could live somewhere like NYC and never need a car.
It use to be an incrememtal tax with the poor paying the lowest rate, and the rich the highest. Again, Regan and later bush and even Obama changed that, and now the Rich pay a lower tax rate than the middle class, so the richer you get, the easier it is to get even more richer.
