To be honest, I also find it a bit disconcerting to be taken to be taken to Activity Stream when I click the top banner, and I'll probably change that. I just don't want to make that change too soon before taking time to get used to it.
the only thing that really bugs me at this point is the skin
im really not saying get rid of activity streams, i dont think its a bad OPTION to have, but when you type in pokedream.com/forums or click on the forum icon you should go to the forum index. having it right there as a tab to click on to see whats up is fine.
fuck, even the url going to activity streams i dont really care, you can save /forums.php as your bookmark page, but the header really is the issue.
if you fix the url redirect then the banner will be fixed
I strongly believe /forums should be the Activity Stream. I find it superior to navigating from forum to forum to read new posts. Clicking the top banner to go to the forums view is fine, though.

On the bright side Mewtwo is now posting, meaning we effectively just got a new member.

anything we kept as a vb default would be different, i think we kept wink as default
what the activity stream is good for is keeping track of current, short term updates to threads. thats literally the only circumstance that its useful. on the other hand if there have been multiple threads updated with many new posts from the last time you logged in then using either new posts or the forum listing is more efficient. also, it makes much more sense to make /forums the forum listing and not the activity stream.Quote:

I missed the thumbs down icon being thumbs up and vice versa, it was part of PD's charm.
the more i use activity stream the more i realise that past a certain threshold of posts/threads it becomes horribly confusing and difficult to use. its a weird mash of who's online and new posts.
it seems like it makes sense for less active forums. with a forum like this which often enough has spurts of activity with large amounts of fairly short posts in the same couple threads, i dunno
tbh i do like the direction the skin is going in right now, but i still want to make a pd original skin that people can choose to use
