Fishing (Emerald)

I can't figure out how to catch a pokemon by fishing in Emerald. Its says, "Oh! A bite!" but it gets away. I've tried holding A when it says thet and it seems to work, but it STILL gets away. Help me please!

You have to push A everytime it does that or else it won't work. I think someone in Dew somethingorother tells you that...

i compared this to how you fish in firered/leafgreen and its much simpler because in emerald you have to press a often more than twice but, in fr/lg all you have to do is wait for the screen to say "oh, a pokemon is on the hook", then you press a only once everytime. they should've just made fishing one way for all the games.

I agree I wish just hitting A once on all the games would of been much easier as well.
