Can someone explain why you spell 'worshiped' (worSHYPed) like that and 'stopped' with a double p? I don't get it

i always thought it was worshipped.

Maybe because it didnt look right, thats my guess.

English is the lanuage of buisness, so a lot of places speak it.

Canadian english is almost the same as american english. The only difference is that canadian's spell it colour, instead of color.
