Um I think it was because Ash didn't have the money and Misty was travling with him so Ash never got the time! (I was 6 when I first watched it so not too sure if Memeroy is right?)
Well do you remember the second episode when the pokemon center blows up
well that is when her bike is ruined and on their back to pallet town in the end of the season they come across the same pokemon center and it turns out that nurse joy fixed her bike for her and misty had to go back to the gym because her sisters where taking a trip around the world.
Or it could be because Ash is a selfish dork and is too busy on his little "adventure" to even consider doing something nice for a friend.
Or it could be he just forgot...
ash: why is this lady everywhere i am again?
or they both forgot... they became friends.... after all, friendships are stronger than repaying debts.. maybe?
plus, Ash was like, 10 years old. he has no money. lol
well i knowthere are 8 moviesand i know 5or more 2.movie pokemon meutwo returns 3.pokemon unknown 4.pokemon forever 6. and my favorite one pokemon heros 8.pokemon lacro and the mystery of meu. and the show the first season has 250 pokemon in it. 2nd sersis has a new chachter mayl and you may not want to know this but a person likes wemon but he never got one he comes close but does'nt get them i will let it up to you who ii is
you may not know this but that is how they become frends and and it may be a good things that they meet this way becaue misty has a crush on ash

Mewtwo Returns is not counted in the main list of movies for some reason. hey, i don't number them, i just watch em.
Misty got her bike back right before Hoenn. The Nurse Joy in Viridian rebuilds it and gives it back to Misty right before she leaves Ash. I'm first gen and proud of it and I've been watching since I was four. I can still remember some of the first season episodes!
oh, so that's why she left. i had wondered because i never really had the chance to catch many episodes until advanced battle which i started watching about halfway through.
ahhh!! thanks guys! I didn't know that nurse Joy fixed it! I guess I missed that one... oh yea, I don't watch often because it's only on at 6 in the morning!!! Tooooo early!!
