Digimon is the least succesful excuse for anime that ever existed. It's on freaking disney channel for pete's sake! That would in this arguement alone. Also you'd be waiting until next year for digimon to get any better but all digimon has ever done is go from bad to worse. Pokemon has stayed strong for years while digimon has strived to keep up since it came out. Digimon was sorta popular in the 90's, but nothing could ever touch the popularity Pokemon had during that era. Pokemon is still coming out with strong games to this day when the last digimon game i've heard of was about two years ago. Some of the fires are burning out in the older kids like me, but I know a multitude of younger kids who eat pokemon up like it's ice cream. Pokemon is just now starting to die down a little, but it's almost unnoticeable. The only other time I can recall where pokemon didn't have a time is the gap between G/S/C and R/S.

First off, it was on Fox way before it was on disney channel. Plus, Digimon was never about the games, it was aobut the show in general.

The Digimon anime was better than all the pokemon seasons (exculding the first season) combined. Honestly, I find a digital universe more realistic than one where people get rip of their kids to possibly send them to death in the wildnerness.

And Digimon wasn't "striving to keep up with Pokemon since it came out" because Digimon was actually released first.

Eh... It's too late to be posting on PD-much less arguing...

Digimon the anime sucked shit throught the entire thing.

It doesn't matter how realistic it is, we're talking about how good the anime was, not realism. Pokemon kicks its ass in that point.

Even though Digimon was first, it wasn't very popular until Pokemon arrived on the scene. Once Pokemon hit, no other kids anime could even come close to catching it (except for one short period of Digimon, but that didn't last...) until Yu-Gi-Oh! came out. Digimon really didn't stand much of a chance, especially nowdays where it's practically unheard of until someone decides to post a thread about it on a forum. :-/

That was like, the love of my life at one time... I still watch it if it's on and I have nothing else to do (which is very rare). My opinion has always been that 1 & 2 were by far the best, 3 was okay (though Henry and Jerry pissed me off with their worthlessness and cowardice), and 4 just sort of made me think, "The other seasons are disowning this season as their relative..." I didn't even know there was a 5th season, but it's probably less enjoyable than sitting in elephant dung, so I'm not gonna bother watching it.
