Best generation
Out of all the generations of Pokemon, I'd Have to say the best was the first. Kanto was the best, the original. It needs more credit than it gets, after all, it was the base for all the new games we have today, not to metion how many other games it has inspired. All the best Pokemon are on those games, like Mewtwo and Mew, Charizard, Hitmonlee and Porygon. Those were the days when the cards, the games, and the first movie were all that was talked about. Now, Pokemon is just crazy with the fourth generation Pokemon and the 'god' Pokemon. It's fun to remember that feeling... the old feelings of the original pokemon.
Share your memories of the first and greatest generation of Pokemon ever.

It was awesome because you actually discovered the legendaries and you felt good about them. It wasn't "Ah. there'll be legendaries. Whatever."
-
3rd was the best imo
it's always fun to get a pokemon game before knowing the Pokemon in it. When I first got Ruby, for example.
-
Ok Cool Latios, this is a first generation thread for your information.
-
ah i thought it was an opinion thread.
sorry *leaves*
-
No, but you can leave your opinion about the first generation without being off topic. ;)
-
I think that second was the best, I just liked it a whole lot and was pleased to find out that you could catch them in Leaf Green, Fire Red, Emerald, XD, and Coloseum.
-
The second generation was pretty good too, but
THIS IS A FIRST GENERATION APPRECIATION THREAD, NOT AN OPINION

1st and 2nd generation were beautiful - I have many lovely memories of collecting 149 pokemon on my blue version UNTIL THE SAVE DATA DIED. But anyway, 3rd generation was horrible and needs to die. Nothing will beat the horrible but lovable graphics of Red and Blue.
Also, Gary is sexy.

Gary is very sexy, I love him!
-
Ahh...the days when the first Gameboy came out. I still have mine(of course it doesn't work but..) it's big and fat and red. ^-^ The first always seems to be the best don't you think? Charmander was my first pokemon......*drifts off into old memories*
-
i like the 3rd only because i can use the best cheats for them:lol:
-
FIRST GEN AND PROUD OF IT, BABY! First gen is best. Second is ok. Third.... well it's ok. A lot of my favorite Pokemon come from the third gen. Fourth gen... GO TO DAMN HELL!
-
-
I like second but think that the forth generation is pretty good.
-
My pleasure with Pokemon games is to buy one without knowing the Pokemon in it. Whether it may be 1st or 3rd gen, It's a wonderful feeling to see a new Pokemon and to go "Hey! A new Pokemon! it's sexy <3"
-
Not sexy. I like the gym leaders.
-
brock in red and blue was pretty hot, he didn't have a shirt on :)
I was really pissed when they remade red and blue because that's just total bullshit, you can't remake a classic game. I guess they remade it because the younger kids who are into the later pokemon generations want pretty colors in their games. well fuck that, red, blue and yellow were priceless as they were. I loved the horrible graphics and simplicity of only catching 150 pokemon.
I mean now I don't even bother "catching 'em all" because there are too many. How many Pokemon are there now with the introduction of the fourth generation, anyway? 400? Either way, I'm not spending my time catching 400 little cyber creatures. I'll play and beat the game but I'm not catching them all.
-
493 i think
with event 'mon
-
well jesus christ that's nearly 500. there is no way I'm going to capture 500 pokemon. that's even worse than 400.
-
I had a Yellow verison before I could even hardly read. I thought the game was MAGIC. (It was my first video game as well.)
-
1st and 2nd gen were great, 3rd gen had some nice pokemon and the 4th... I know nothing about it yet (too lazy to search for info)
-
The fourth gen don't even LOOK like Pokemon to me! Is there ANYBODY else that agrees with me? I'll try Diamond and Pearl, but I'm not sure if I'll like them... I honestly hope that they'll STOP after D/P. But FIRST GEN ALL THE WAY BABY!
-
I'm torn between 1st and 2nd as my favorite. A lot of my favorite Pokemon are from the 1st generation, but the 2nd generation introduced STEEL Pokemon.
