All servers make under minimum wage, and we're expected to make up the loss in tips.

I've put foward a motion that we all wear buttons that say "Yes- I do make 3.13 an hour."

Some people tip you like a dollar or a dollar and a half and expect you to make real money.

What those fuckers don't understand is that we pay our fucking bills from the money you leave us, and we generally only work about 5 hours at a time.

Enough people realize that and tip well, so it's a job worth doing. But every once in a while you're nailed with those 12 groups of old people on Sunday that leave you that dollar, and you just want to walk out to your car and leave.

I was just informed most servers actually make 2.13 an hour. Painful.

Oh, we also get taxed on what tips we claim and our meager paychecks- making over $50 every two weeks per paycheck is a godsend.

I've found an easy way to make a few bucks without even leaving home. Take advantage of TA's laziness and get paid to take out the trash for him. Anyone else with siblings could do the same.
