Why did 4kids have to go and ruin pokemon?
I think 4kids ruined the old pokemon TV show, they banned 5 episodes for COMPLETELY STUPID REASONS
And then one time Ash said: Hey! and then about 4 seconds later he said: A Pidgeot!
I think they completely ruined pokemon anime, thank god they don't run pokemon D&P...

They banned that one episode with tentacruel because they thought people might think it was related to 9/11 or something. But you can find on dvd or vhs, I have it already.
I knew about pokemon through watching the chinese version, I'm actually more used to calling Misty and Brock xiao xia and xiao gang respectively. I was around five when I watched them, and the chinese version had all the unedited versions inside besides the infamous Porygon one. I remember I was wondering why James had boobs at the time...

The banned episodes of pokemon weren't what ruined pokemon, it was the voice acting, characters, and plot.
Well even still it has gotten better (IMO) Visually and the plots are getting deeper... but then again it's no longer being done by the same ah... whatever or who ever was doing it before...

4Kids can't take all the blame either. Pokemon USA asked them to americanize the first movie, who says that they didn't ask 4Kids to do the same for episodes as well?
It's just now Al Kahn believes that American kids are doing nothing but playing video games, watching TV and going on the Internet. "The kids these days don't read." lolz (Apparently the Internet must've learned how to bypass all the text other people have to deal with so the kids don't have to read it.
And he's proud that he can edit a show so much that kids don't know it's from Japan. What an idiot. "Manga is not going to be big here. Kids have never read before; they never will. They spend too much time on the Internet. We stream our videos and make sure the kids watch the show enough to want to by the merchadise. The content is free; the merchandise is not."
They pick the easier-to-censor shows. If they picked any show we'd have 1 minute episodes of Elven Lied.
And God knows what they'd do to Fist of the North Star.
