Those soldiers are a joke, the war is like some big game to them. What happened to soldiers that displayed professionalism and had even an ounce of dignity and respect?

When the drill sergeants lost the ability to really train soldiers, the real soldier died out.
Now if a drill sergeant calls someone a dirty little maggot and tells them to go fuck their mother, they are given leave and investigated for harassment.
The soldiers need someone to teach them how to take orders without thought, and they don't get that any more.
Nah, they still do that shit, my brother trained for a very short time with this little Marine training unit thing unoffically, and he said it was crazy. It has nothing to do with the training
It's simple, they are fighting someone elses war, they don't give a single fuck about it. They aren't serving their country, they are serving the country they are fighting against.
And most of the kids who join the millitary these days only do it to look tough for their girlfriends or for a free ride through college or because it looked easy enough to be a sniper in Halo or Rainbow Six. If our troops were put into battle against a real countries military, we would most likely be demolished in ground combat

My uncle is now a recruiter for the navy, he has been in the navy 40+ years. He says the same thing.
marines may be slightly different but I somehow doubt it. The politically correct bullshit has DRASTICALLY changed the way soldiers are trained now vs say 10 years ago.
If your brother couldn't take what they do now, they would have shoved a bar of soap up his ass and beat him to death with his own shoe 10 years ago.
Oh no, he had no problem with it, He could handle it better than anyone there, he thought it was hilarious what they did to the bitches that couldn't handle even the easy stuff, he just wasn't officially allowed to train because he was too young and he couldn't afford to go every single week.
I guess the guidelines have changed, but either way they still join not for the reasons they joined for like 20 years ago

This war and... WWII for example are on two different levels. WWII was around when there were more superpowers in the world, thus it was more of a threat when another country wanted to make war. It was a serious war. This war's almost considered a joke which might explain the soldiers behavior.
But it proves that when you blow up a few of our buildings, we'll blow up a few of your countries.

World war II was a real actual WAR. This is just some vague police action spanning anywhere there could be terrorists/People the current regime doesn't like

It showed them killing dozens of innocent people.
Some of them were on the ground, injured, and were shot.

I'm no military commander, and I'm sure there would be all manner of political flak, but wouldn;t it be easier, and probably most cost efficient, to simply carpet bomb the targeted areas. Give civilians 48 hours to evacuate, and then, woom, no more potential terrorist hideaway, or bastion of whatever.

Since Vietnam the media has been fighting the wars for us, tying our hands. They can't do something like that because the media would have a field day, people crying about losing their homes, etc.
So instead we have to risk MORE lives, going from door to door doing the exact same thing with grenades? Except it's more risky for our men and not as effective? Bah Tim's biggest problem with wanting to be a liberal socialist is that it's also the purview of the media. And they're worthless whining sharks.
Because one could argue that they at least gave fresh water to a child in the end and the innocent people getting shot might have been terrorists. But you really can't defend chucking a puppy off a cliff.
