Why do you guys think that a liberal is what we need leading this country right now? This crisis is going to cost the treasury a lot, and a conservative who can cut taxes to help balance the economy out after this meltdown is going to be our best bet. And what better reason to vote for Mccain than because he's not only deeply concerned about our economic standpoint, but about the war in Iraq, and that he's hoping to get elected to make sure their sacrifices weren't in vain.
By the way, Obama saying we had to rebuild our infrastructure after we're already talking about spending enough money ( the 700 billion dollars) to rebuild to entire infrastructure of the United States on a plan to restore the economy is blasphemy. I actually spat out my drink at the atrocious comment. We can't be spending a dime more than we have to in these next few years, not after this bailout!

y'know, THe President can veto, and his suggestions matter a lot but it's the House and Senate that can actually do anything about restructuring the economy, provided there is a good mix of both liberals and conservatives or even a greater number of Conservatives on the house and senate, then the economy should be allright, provided THEY can make unstupid decisions. However the Pres DOES have a lot of power as the Face of America and right now we can use all the diplomatic goodness we can get. A liberal, especially a black, young, charismatic, potentially muslim, diplomat can do wonders for us in that department. If it ever comes down to (and God forbid by the way) us every needing other countries to bail the United States of F'in America out... it would be really nice if the rest of the world didn't hate us. They may love Steven Seagal and Baywatch... but we need to be worth more as allies for as many people as we can than just recycled Pop Culture. China (And definately since they are actually a very potential enemy) is NOT gonna help the US out just because we have Paris Hilton....

And Yojimbo, I do not quite comprehend how you come to the conclusion that after our economy has been butt-raped over the last 8 years by the Bush regime, which immediately followed the great economic times that Clinton achieved, that a Republican is the best choice for the office of President. Especially since John McCain is essentially George Bush's handpuppet.
