Just annoys me that sometimes it randomly pops up in conversation that people are actually homeschooled and not in high school or whatever.

Next time someone mentions homeschool in your presence, stab them in the face. That will get your message to them fairly quickly.

I'm not homeschooled. Don't ever want to, either. It's not that I wouldn't be able to cope in an environment where I'm only surrounded by my parents and the occasional department of education representative; I could probably deal with that. I could also learn to rely on my computer as the only source of cheating for tests. The only reason I couldn't handle it (or I don't think I can, anyway) is because I long for social interaction. I doubt my parents could make up for my lack of communication with people (especially my dad >.<'). I'm aware that all humans are obliged to interact and socialise with others; it's a natural need, but my need seems to be greater than everyone I know. I always have to have my mobile phone near me so I can text someone whenever I feel the urge to. I spend a lot of my time on forums to satisfy the need as well. I never stop talking in class. The list goes on.

tl;dr: I'm staying in public school no matter how bad the education system is.

I should know, I was homeschooled for the last bit of high school. Worst mistake my mother ever made.

I think it was my mom combined with the curriculum.

"Mom, I don't get this calculus. I think I need a tutor."

"It's you! It must be satan influencing you! You must be possessed! The mail order information said all this is completely self taught! Out damn demon! *beat!*"

I mean literature was... the bible.

Book reports were on... the bible.

Science was based on... creation and goddidit.

Sex ed... A chimp's reproductive organs drawn illustration (cause we are 'exactly like' chimps even though evolution is a crappy theory not worthy of being taught in their system) and abstinence.

Every couple pages there was a bible verse to memorize which I had to repeat on the test, even in maths.

History was rife with stuff like "Eve ate the apple so Hitler killed the jews, its all the fault of a woman, women are evil but killing the jews wasn't entirely bad because they don't believe in jesus and jesus is ALL."

There was even a drawn comic about how D&D is evil.

It was an absolutely ridiculous school system. It was so easy to cheat that you would have to be retarded not to (or maybe just a better person than I am.)

Maybe homeschooling wouldn't have been bad if I had a non-psycho hands on mother or a father who bothered to interfere.



Oh yeah and Ronald Reagan is god, bush was our salvation and Clinton should be crucified. That democratic devil.

I was a liberal before I knew what liberal meant and reading that bullshit made me want to rip my hair out.
