Goth vs. Emo

Interesting how this has so many replies. Emos are gay 100% of the time, goths 98% of the time. Goths are sometimes extremely poetic, have a genuine intellectual interest in serial killers, and listen to sort of alright music - of course, that is when they're not fags drawn to the subculture for faggy reasons.

Plus, goths barely even exist anymore. Aren't they "indie", "preps" etc. now? Goths is barely a teenage subculture, it's only just a subculture.

Goths are mainly people that wear black and have some odd views while emos say they cut them selfs but they are posers also they are more like rock band people who just seem to be following a craze. Goths actually are 'in it.'

Most of you here don't really know what a true Gothic person is nor what is Emo. Most of will claim that you do, but that's only because many of you only see the bandwagon people who later down the road change.

To be Gothic:
The people from the Victorian times were considered Gothic and are the best example. The outragous clothes and the most sexually active, but still kept modest about it in polite conversation.
To be Gothic, one must be rebellious to authority and have their own subjective views of the world. People who are Gothic are usually well educated in many subjects and topics. Most of the topics that crossed their minds were science and philosophy. That's why Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Phantom of the Opera were created.
But because of this education, many questions arose, and like the adolescent people we all once were, they too were curious about sex. Sex became something to observe. Many question were asked then and now.
Goths are more sexually leniant than most cultures. You can thank the Goths for hot lesbian sex... and man-butt sex...

In the Victorian Era, women were expected to be virgins until they got married, but the men were thought to be very sexually experienced, but how could this be possible without taking a ladies virginity? Two choices:
1. Cheat with someone elses wife

2. Man-butt sex
(only because I wanted to place an image in your mind )

In todays modern society, there are many Gothic people who don't know that they are actually Gothic. These people are more open minded then most. Some may not consider same gender sex as something they will do, but are accepting of those who choose that.

The Fashion:
Gothics dress the way they dress only for the shock factor, while others actually wear what they wear to be "darker." The many teens that choose the Gothic style only choose it because they want to stand out, but will quickly change to another group once they realize that they are not well educated enough to know what true Goths are talking about.

I consider myself Gothic, but I don't dress wearing black and red and wearing make up. My causual clothes are earthy in color (lots of browns, greens, blue, black, etc.) and are a darker shade than usual, but still appear "normal."


Emo's, on the other hand, well...
They don't have the initiative to change their lives. These people are closer to reality and their emotions. True Emo's aren't suppose to complain about their terrible lives, but express it.
A beautiful example of an Emo Poem is Dober Beach. Google it, it's good.
"The Heart of Darkness" is a great example of Emo writting.
"Full Metal Jacket" or "Apocalypse Now" are great examples of Emo Movies.
You're feeling what they are feeling emotionally. That's what it means to be Emo, but those who complain about it, well, they're just the one's who want to be part of the group.
