Does Anyone Even Know How to PLay?

OK. Lets admit it. Everyone collects Pokemon cards. But how many people know how to actually play. I mean, they all sit around at tournaments and ask "How the fuck do we pplay this game?"

Go to go pokemon.com. that is te offical tcg site, there is tourments and events happing and leuges to. On that site they have a online demo. be sure you cliock on the pop link pokemon orgnized play then hit online demo

I do not but only recently when I bought an old pokemon TCG video and watched it is really complex you need like half the deck to be energy cards...

I play the card game. I've been playing ever since the original base set.
Recently I came out second in a pre-release tournament when I was home on leave.
I know the new rules and I'm actually trying to go in as a Pokemon Professor at the official TCG site.
If you have TCG questions, or game mechanics, I can answer them... well... make sure to add the text of the cards as well. There are so many cards out there that it takes me while to remember them.

Its Possible, cause i and 6 friends did it.
What you best do is play first at Prerelease's, and there, they can help you with the rules, and you learn how to build a deck, and you can also win a great amount of cards!!!

Woot! I thought I was the only who has played the video game...that Windows 95 computer served me well...and GOD I hated that stupid girl Julie or w/e... Anyhoo yes I know how to play it by the vid game rules...energy cards, discard pile etc... I even had a mat and like 5,000 cards to play with. Aahh old-timed Pokemon...(:

yeah, I've kept up. A little while ago when they had cards come out for Diamond and Pearl games, they changed the weakness where Pokémon had +10 or +20 and not the x2 weakness. But now they're going back to that style in the HeartGold SoulSilver card release.
They broke the game by adding SP Pokémon. They're like Gymleader Pokémon (not sure if you played that long, but the GYM set back in the day had Pokémon with Gymleaders names in them. Like Misty's Poliwag and Misty's Poliwhirl or Brock's Sandshrew or Brock's Sandslash). They couldn't evolve from regular Pokémon, they HAD to evolve from the correct Gymleaders Pokémon. And a Gymleader's Pokémon couldn't evolve into a regular Pokémon too.

Well, SP Pokémon are basic Gymleader Pokémon, but are super cheap. They deal high damage for low energy cost, or do great game mechanics for low energy cost or simply do uber stuff without any draw backs.

I dont know the old way, i remember a while back before HGSS came out going to the pokemon website and doing the game demo, it was fun until i figure it stopped in the middle of it all and now i know the new rules, what are the old ones?
