I solved the pika2 mystery
We all wondered what was up with Ric's name. God asked why there is no "k" at the end of it and never really figured out why. I have found that answer.
Common names Ric is derived from:
Patrick
Richard
Sometimes someone can just be named Rick i suppose.
The one i'm sure it came from was Eric. There is no k in that one, and would easilly explain this mystery.
If it's not that then Ric just spells his name an irregular way.
Top that.
I remember when someone asked, he said he didn't have a k because a man in a dark coat told him about kelsh, whose name started with a k

My full name is Patrick, but my family and friends have been calling me Ric for aslong as I remember. I originally spelt it as Rick, but after a certain cloaked man told me the story of Kelsh (a rather gripping tale, I must say), as Walrus pointed out, I omitted the 'k' and spelt it as Ric. The end.
