    Default GCSEs are shit

They are not teaching us about anything. We are learning nothing other than what we know by nature and this should not be simplified on paper. We must get rid of these sinistrous qualifications before it is too late. I've just finished them... I intend to get amazing grades, having been predicted them, but we must rid of their curse.

It happens to the best of us.

I think... Hmm... Well, I don't know. Apparently science has gone down a lot in the two years since I took it.

I am a strong proponent of international qualifications though. International qualifications have zero grade inflation and, of course, lead to globalization and shit. And it probably means other things like not being geared towards one country's employment but I'm no expert.

Definitely. 'Dark, matt surfaces are strong absorbers of radiation', with no description as to why. It makes you want to punch someone, it's that oversimplified. Where was the quantum physics, the element name learning, I'm pretty sure being 10 was harder than this shit.

If there weren't grades we would have less of a problem. Since students now go for the grades, instead of the material provided. Teachers have less of a job because with a simple look they can say, "Eh. That looks like a B+."

Without grades, there would be less competition between students and it would be less obvious if someone was at a lower or higher level of education. Just that the dumb or stupid kids would drop out.

And then we would have to hire better teachers. Because they would have to decide, based on a semester or year course, if you deserve to pass. A letter on a report card should not have to do that.

Grades don't count for much anyway. My math teacher (awesome guy) passed a guy with an F because he realized that the kid was bright enough that he would've passed, but he was accidentally ignored and couldn't get good help. My teacher knew that it was his fault for not knowing his students' needs properly, so he passed him. And now that kid's in college.

No no, you don't want quantum physics at GCSE...

We have the Prussians to thank for our shitty educational system, don't we?

I think at least some mandatory education is a good idea.

Well all I know is that the science course at the moment could not be any easier. There is absolutely no way.

The head of Physics at my last school would probably agree.
