Done with "The Lost Symbol". Took a while because of college and stuff... It was pretty good.
I'm now casually reading "The Perk" by Mark Gimenez.

uh i read about 3/4 of slaughterhouse five when i was at dogars house and he was sleeping. it wasn't very good really but readable. im in no hurry to finish it at least.
got:
the ascent of money by niall ferguson. about halfway through, its alright but not really as informative and interesting as i had hoped.
the brief and wondrous life of oscar wao by junot diaz. read the first page and it seems like it'll turn out really good.
and i know it was trying to be all ironic and detached with repeating "so it goes" all the time but it didn't really work and was just obnoxious. sounded like a 15 year old trying to be too clever.
Been reading Sylvie And The Songman for a while. Very interesting, mainly because the book deals with music as one of it's main aspects.
I finally caved in and took "New Moon" out from the library.
It was horrible. I deeply regret it now.

some sherlock holmes book that i should've returned to the library a week ago
Dude. I studied it at school and...oh dear. I HATED it. Everyone always made jokes about how much I hated it (no one liked it, but no-one hated it with the passion I did). I used our creative piece to wail on the author and our teacher for choosing it and almost got a DT out of it. Even if I did, it was so worth.
God, what a fucking horrible novel.
i actually read that steig larsson book, girl with the dragon tattoo. it wasnt something i was ever interested in reading but at my old job someone left it overnight and i read the first chapter and it was pretty good so eventually i bought it. surprised how much i enjoyed it, finished the last 450 pages or so of it in about 3 days.
also i've been rereading books lately which i've never really done before, it's cool. they have a totally new feeling, by which i mean psychically - a little more beat up, pages turn more easily, it opens up more flat, etc. reread norweigan wood which is as good if not better than ever, and just started rereading gatsby.
re-reading the anita blake series by Laurell K Hamilton and I agree its better when you re-read something. I can think, "Oh I remember this scene, I'll skip to the next chapter." if it's boring me.
I don't agree about the feel of the book though, because breaking spines is my pet peeve, and you have to be very careful time 2 through the book. I've given up on keeping The Wheel of Time series flawless though, because by about time 4 through the book, it's a hopeless cause.
My Wheel of Time books are battered... everyone in my family loves them.
