"Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord; They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah. And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (martyr's) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve." - 3:169-170
"Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the Garden (of Paradise): they fight in His Cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in Truth, through the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his Covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme." - 9:111
Also, a direct quote from Muhammad's own mouth himself:
"The martyrs requested of Allah the following; "For the sake of you, o Allah, send us back to the world again so that we may be martyred once more"."
The Muslims that are threatening society today with global jihad are Suni, and they believe whole-heartedly in the Qu'ran directly and the Qu'ran just happens to glorify martyrdom.
In my opinion they are no intellectually or morally worse than a fundamentalist Christian or orthodox Jew, they think they are doing the infidels a favor by ending them in hellfire. It's just that, well, they're trying to put the infidels in eternal hellfire.
I have no problem with the Shea, I think that any secularism is better than a very fundamental, if morally valid, religion.
@Nido: That's what I'm saying. Tying in with God's accusation of bias, even Israelis are guilty of the same crime. When I went there, their nationalism drove me insane, and they were basically brainwashed into thinking that their government somehow represents them (A quick study of Israeli politics can tell you that doesn't happen). I was very uncomfortable when on a tour of a fortress the tour-guide just kept saying "So-and-so died, but right before he died he said, 'Don't cry, it is good to die for your country.' We should take a lesson from him and all join the army!" Of course, in accordance with Israeli law, all 17 year-old Israelis have to join the army.
