THe original Pirates SL continues. It' looks bleak for hte pirates and some of the crew might not survive the shipwreck. If you want to play your old character GREAT! If not... they'll be lost to the sea. It may take a couple of posts for the the old crew to find each other, but in the meantime, this RP is open to everyone and that means that we're lookin for New Crew Members to show up on the shores!

Physical Description: Carries katana with hilt on the right in red wooden scabbard attached to back of sash, which in turn is tied around his waist. The three leather pouches are tied to the sash on his left side. The bandana is worn folded as a strip across his forehead, tied at the back. Underneath his hanfu he wears a pair of tight cotton shorts and his leather pistol holster, which hangs on his right with the strap across his chest. Wraps a cotton strip around his right hand and forearm, leaving the fingers and thumb free. Charred Gloves are blackened white cotton with singed edges, fingerless, and worn over the cotton strip. The Mark of Khorne is a bronze pendant hanging from a bronze chain. He wears it over his hanfu.

Personality: Rash and impulsive, he'll dive into a fight at a moments notice, although he's not adverse to exchanging bullets when necessary. He also likes to focus on the bright side of things and help people out, and he'd do almost anything for a pretty lady. However, he can also be short-tempered and easily distracted.

Skills: Basic first aid, expert swordsman, advanced marksman, basic archery, fire resistance, setting himself on fire.

History: A sparring partner of Kitsa Tangeforte, who's accompanying her on her adventures. Born in Dublin, he lived with his parents and two siblings until he turned fifteen, when he left to explore the wider world. He learned how to wield a sword when he ended up in Japan two years later, which is where he also received his katana. At the same time he was gifted a beautiful grey and red kimono, but this became heavily damaged during another adventure and so was replaced with a hanfu he chanced upon at a market in London, while the kimono has been carefully locked away. He prefers to wear the hanfu when using the katana rather than different clothing. After he returned from Japan he met Kitsa, who challenged him to a duel, which was inconclusive. Since then they have fought many times, and only once has Kitsa beaten him, although he does not accept this as he was distracted at the time. Despite this Kitsa has begun calling him Ervan McNinja in recognition of his skills at evading her. In the last year or so he has been learning how to use a gun with help from Camilla, as well as taking a crash course in first aid after his last adventure. He also discovered that setting himself on fire was an effective means of avoiding restraint during a bar-fight.

Physical Description:

Rather clumsy looking, Dart has the look of a worn out soldier or a traveller coming back from a long journey, mostly because he IS one. His arms are long, as well as his legs, and his ears have the classic elf tip at the edge. His eyes are large, but are usually squinting. When they open, they can be very captivating, and show that he does, in fact, have a knowing side. His mouth is of average size as well as his nose. He does have a little bit of a tan, which is unusual for an elf. His chest is not to impressive, and muscles are not too big. His feet are of a large size, and keep him balanced well.

Personality:

Dart is a traveller, wandering the islands of Britain and Ireland, trying to earn money through various ways. His dream is to join some form of band of rogues, maybe pirates. Dart has a sharp tongue and cannot help it, but he tries to turn his tongue smooth around females he wishes to, as he says, "get 'em". Dart is more vulgar than most elves, having lived away from them. He likes beer, food, and babes, put shortly. When he does become serious, he be expected to do great things, but otherwise he is mostly an annoyance. In battle, Dart will suddenly turn attentive and will act on instinct. Dart has a happy-go-lucky 'tude most of the other times.

Skills: As mentioned before, Dart has excellent accuracy with the bow. He can also use crossbows and guns in emergencies, but prefers the conventional bow. Dart can also aim a cannon well. Dart has a way of convincing people certain things by using simplistic answers. He can cook and sew, and play the flute, to boot. (Now if he only had a flute)

History: Dart was born in England in a small group of Wood Elves in Essex. His mother died during childbirth. However, he was the weakest of elven children his age, and effectively became the "Runt of the pack". His father, seeing this, immediately took Dart in to teach him long range combat, rather than melee, because he knew Dart would not be good at that. Dart showed a natural skill at the bow and made his father proud. However, to the rest of the kids he was a weakling, and they pushed him around and bullied him. He soon alienated from the rest of the pack. Dart lived most of his childhood this way and became an outsider to the group by the time he was 15. The only person he could be with was his father.

Then, on Dart's 16th birthday, Dart's father died from being mauled by a bear while out hunting. Dart, infuriated killed the bear and turned its coat into a vest, in remembrance to his father. Dart soon came to accept his father's death, but he knew he could not stay with the group any longer. Dart left the wild forests of Essex and started exploring Britain, Whales, and parts of Scotland. Then one day he went to London, and a man grabbed him on the shoulder. Dart turned around to see the man was in a trance.

"You must head east of here and find the tavern of the Dark Elves. There, seek out a band of pirates. It is your destiny," The man then shook his head and said to Dart, "Oi, what are you lookin' at? Well, while you're lookin', maybe you'd like to buy this book from me. A maniac in a trance 'anded it to me earlia, and I don't know wot to do wi' it."

Dart, surprised, bought the book. Seeing as there was no where else to go, Dart headed to Eastern Britain (He crossed England at the time Ervan was convinced to kill Keke) and sought out these dark elves, on a quest to find this mysterious band of pirates.

I'm not sure if you were looking through that PD Pirates thread, Qoorl, (although chances are you were), but I suggested making Siren Daerid's assistant, as Daerid had been crushing on her and wanted to spare her.

Physical Description: Cho'kar cuts a savage figure, tall and wiry with massive black dreadlocks. He wears only a few animal skins and a variety of fetishes, beads, and animal parts. His skin is a pale green, bordering on grayish. His jaw is strong and sports the fanged underbite common to orcs. He also wears a small leather satchel across his chest, who knows what grisly trophies are there. His back displays a tribalesque tattoo of a spider on a web, a mark of the Spinner of Tales.

Personality: Cho'kar is mostly silent, prefering the company of beasts to men. He does however love stories. He is a wonderful listener and collects tales from all over the world. If he put his mind to it, he would also be a powerful storyteller. With the natural storytelling talents learned at the foot of his tribal elders, a deep, commanding, voice, and a naturally exotic flair, it would be difficult not to listen to Cho'Kar's stories. As of yet though, he has not tried it. He seeks for the Great Beasts, looking for their blessing so that he might be the True Beastlord, a legendary hero that only appears once every 20 generations.

Combat Arts or Spells:

Bundolo! Kreegah! (6 pp) Cho'Kar grapples, with his opponent, eventually emerging behind, legs wrapped around the enemy's torso, both khukri's are brought up and to the throat, touch briefly and rip away, generally taking most of the neck with them.

Tame: (10pp) Cho'kar locks eyes with a beast of the wild and through the silent arts handed down by his tribe he befriends the beast, making it his willing ally.

Skills: Tracking, tree climbing, communicating with animals, etc. Cho'Kar is a natural hunter.

History: Cho'Kar was raised from birth to follow the teaching of his tribe. He came from a long line of powerful Beast Tamers. He listened intently at the foot of the elders as they told the stories of famous tamers, the legends of the greatest headsmen and most importantly of all, the tales of the Great Beasts- Legendary creatures that only a few in the long oral history of his people had ever managed to tame. In time, he grew up to be a successful tamer in his own right, but he was restless, and grew weary of incessant tribal warfare. And also there were the Great Beasts... they were out there somewhere, waiting for the Greatest tamer of all time to step forward and meet with them, gain their knowledge and their blessings and become the true Beastlord. And so Cho'kar set out, he headed north along the Nile to Ygipt, from their catching a ship and sailing around Greece and eventually north toward the British Isles. It was there that he was shipwrecked. He has been wandering the beaches, looking for a way to his next adventure, comrades, or a great challenge. After being dragged overboard by Wrathgills, Cho'kar became separated from his companions. He wandered deep subterranean caves but soon he will return to the surface, and he will have the chance to be reunited with his companions and continue his quest to become the Beast Lord. She has lanky limbs and appears somewhat coltish, but moves with surprising grace.

She wears a billowy white pirate's shirt that laces at the neck which is partially unlaced, a blue sash tied about the waist that hangs half down her left leg, tight tan colored pants, black leather thigh-boots with buckles on the sides and slightly raised heels, dainty green kid gloves that snap at her wrists. On her left forearm is a black leather pad for her falcon (Horus) to perch upon. A Nimcha (type of scimitar) rests on her left hip with a brown leather wrapped hilt and a filigree gold wire hand guard. An adamantium dagger is on her right hip, it also has a brown leather wrapped hilt but a sapphire the size of the first digit of her thumb glitters at the end, waiting for an enchantment. A green and blue quiver with gold needle work decorating it and short bow are on her back along. Both sword sheaths are made of hard leather but have a green and blue velvet cover with gold needle work matching the quiver. The sheaths are secured to her thigh with straps.

Personality:*Keke is quiet and avoids crowds at all costs. She is sure of herself to the point of recklessness and has been known to act superior. She wears her arrogance like a shield. She has few close friends, but she shows complete loyalty to those she does have. She is ruthless with enemies and will do whatever it takes to get the job done. She is cynical and jaded, she often looks at the world with distaste and startling pessimism. Her eyes shine with barely suppressed mourning. Her motto is, “Expect the worst, and all your surprises will be pleasant ones.”

She has lost her memory, who knows how much of her former personality will survive?

History: Keke doesn't remember her history but she is the third daughter of a very highly respected General, while she was not the heir apparent her father still showed signs of favoring her. He taught her all he would have the son he never had, including the art of war, tracking and horsemanship. At the age of 17 her beloved father took an arrow through the throat on a campaign. Driven by grief she struck out alone to find a place in the world. Not long after arriving in the capital city of Dublin she met Ervan, who convinced her to join his crew of Pirates.

Misc: The ruby on Demond's belt buckle absorbs energy and strengthens Demond's Chi Charkra. In other words, the ruby absorbs energy each time Demond is damaged and uses this energy to strengthen him.
While inactive, the remaining energy stored is used as a primitive defibrillator and also has finite healing abilities; which are: quick healing and closing wounds. The Ruby quickly loses it's charge due to the large amounts of energy required for healing, it usually last for a couple moments.


Personality:
Is crude when he speaks, but tries to be a gentlemen at times. Is loyal to his friends and enjoys to drink. Can get excited easily and loves to fight.

Fantastic at Land and Sea navigation. First Aid. Survival techniques. Combative Greaves Master.
History:
A man with a good sense of justice and a true friend. He joined his country's military service as a the age of 15. He quickly climbed the ranks before being recommend as an officer. After being promoted and is now a first lieutenant, he will soon become a commander. The many years in the service has brought him to war many times and is a learned man. He had studied many books of Latin and from other various nations. Being well educated has made him feel alone in the ranks and thus has become very independent. This sense has also made Demond feel that he doesn't belong-- and his education has made him realize that his country is wrong as well.
Because of these reasons, Demond has gone AWOL for his own adventures and purposes.
On a side note, Demond enjoys to ravage women he fancies. He keeps this side if himself secret yet it tares away at his conscience. Demond usually keeps quiet when the topic of relationships with women spur up. Demond is also a very sexist man, women are viewed as objects to him.

Physical Description: Hart's body is composed entirely of thick black smoke in the shape of a slim man. Blue lightning flashes through him occasionally. On his forearms burn the marks of his gods: a yellow mark of Tzeentch on the left and a red mark of Khorne on the right. His armour and weapon only appear when he needs them to.

Personality: Hart is caught between two rather different outlooks, the calm foresight and complicated plans of Tzeentch and the sudden and violent fury of Khorne. As a result he can be rather unpredictable, switching from a restrained and tactical approach to blind rage as soon as his anger begins to rise. Being a daemon he is a little distant from mortals, and his comparatively great age makes him view most people he encounters as insignificant.

Skills: Expert swordsmanship, expert black magic.

History: Hart was born 3000 years ago in the Immaterium, a unique form of daemon from between the realms of Khorne and Tzeentch. At first the gods did not know what to do with him and kept him restrained, but after two thousand years he was allowed to go to the materium in response to a summon. Immediately he overpowered his summoner and escaped. For two centuries he cut a bloody swathe across the world, then suddenly stopped. Now he serves his gods in the mortal realm, guided by Tzeentch to where he will be needed most.

This isn't concrete yet, so I would appreciate some opinions

Yes I am. He's good on his feet and uses his gauntlets to defend with, but they aren't all that great to defend with.

Physical Description: Not tall not sort again sort of fat. Skin is course and hard from the sea salt. He is always dirty with the sort of stuck on dirt that could never go away as well as a bad case of lice. His clothing reflects his build with trattered brown canvas with holes everywhere.



Personality: Basically goes around with a half ass atitube like he deseves it. Also very lazy will only do work in case of food or his life give him a break and exept him to run with it. But despite what seems to be a strong personallity he can easily be pushed around with no mental back bone.

Skills: Not much although he is a good shot with his pistols. Besides that most of his "skills" are useless such as eating mass amounts of pie.

History: Born in the wild (Old) Northwest Territory with indians and such to a poor family what it seemed that shere every they went Indians piliaged there farm. When he was 9 his whole family except him was killed in a raid. He was so depressed at the time that he just laid on a wooden board that flowed into the Mississippi then the Gulf. After his fat was gone and he was about to die in the Caribean a pirate ship picked him up. There he worked but got fired and this is how things went from now on hopping from ship to ship working and getting fired. In between he used his money for food and most resently alcohol. In his most recent firing his was cast out on a small lifeboat slowly using the current to go the nearest port.

Just tell me how bad I failed.

While the profile is very silly, it isn't too bad. And silly isn't a bad thing in this RP. In most others I think people would ask you to take it a little more seriously, but I think you did well for your first try. Nice job, newbie.

Weapons cost far more than Jewellery, and he could have always stolen whatever jewellery or items you would like him to have.

Since there was a recent shipwreck there will be all sorts of stuff floating about and washing ashore. You can acquire basically anything you want to in the first post.

If I might make a suggestion for you, if you have him wash ashore with the shipwreck, have him chasing an item with his oars or something. Scavenging from the shipwreck seems right up his ally.
