    Jaws of Darkness is an old RP, young 'uns, before most of the current RPers came here. It is one of the only RPs to have ever been completed, with the bad guys actually winning. Naturally, we can't let this happen. Contrary to popular belief I had no hand in it's creation, Kardassino created the entire concept and story. I simply posted. A lot. It was very addictive, because a) every character in it was bad-ass and b) the entrie RP centered around mind-games and out-god-modding. Please read the original first page up there first and profiles. I will write a brief synopsis of the story, while taking out a few unnecessary things:

    Dravis retrieves the locket of Akba from a battle-torn place and sails away to the Brotherhood's hide-out, giving it to Kahn. Jorj and his right-hand man Qento afce off against Minion and Deep-freeze on a cliff setting. Jerriko, playing mind-games, gets Jorj to go to Order HQ and gets Dravis to take the locket on purpose. He reveals that the locket actually has the magical powers of an entire race locked up inside it, and thanks to one of his operatives, Ancient, he has the Pendant of Shadows (Yeah, this RP revolves a lot around obtaining the X of Y). Using his devious magical powers Kaan creates a "Laser" dr. Evil style and uses it to try and open the locket, but is unsuccesful.

    Jorj obtains a fucking disgusting still-beating heart that belonged to the emperor's brother from the Misfit. The pendant is revealed to have catually absorbed the "laser"'s power from the locket, as protector of it. Jorj, Qento, Goldbane, and the Misfit face off against the most god-modded operative ever, Adaptive. Dravis watches the battle gleefully through a scrying pot. Dravis, being role-played by an idiot, decides to mess up the whole confrontation and sails to the island, seeking council. Adaptive is taken away by Vanisher and Jerriko instead appears, ready for council. Dravis reveals his plan to come to peace before Kaan destroys the earth by opening the locket. I mean, he's not an idiot.

    The heart is destroyed and sends out magical shockwaves, devastating anything that isn't magically protected. All sides spread out and claim all unprotected land. Dravis heads out to get the Frandall Stone, while Jerriko examines other islands for clues as to how to open the locket (yes, even though he has the pendant). Dravis finds out the Frandall stoen is gone, but the pendant that protects the locket can lose its power if it's brought through the arches of the ten islands. Kaan resolves to protect the arches until they can get the pendant so he asks Dravis to befriend the guardian of each arch. Dravis is spotted while passing by Ygziir, teh Order hide-out, and is attacked. Jerriko and some operatives try to capture the islands too.

    Jerriko performs an epic boat race after Dravis. Dravis finds himself out-god-modded and surrenders. Jerriko, using the power of biology kills Dravis. Dravis tries to go towards the light but is stopped. He becomes a spirit being, Sivard, and dedicates himself to stopping Jerriko. It turns out the locket contains a new sun taht will replace the old one when it dies, but it needs to be secured first. Jerriko figures out how to use this to his advantage, somehow (I don't really know either). Kaan travels towards the Commando's ship to make an alliance against the Order. Sivard goes to find Umbreon's chary.

    Sivard saves Silvia from her prison and befriends her. He goes with her to the Commando's base to search for her older brother, Damian. Kaan comes aboard Jorj's ship. Jerriko captures another island. An island turtle comes out of nowhere right under the two ships. The island turtle trashes both ships. Brav follows a bunch of "Mina birds", Kaan's unconcious body hovering behind him. Sivard and Silvia continue their infiltration. Brav and Kaan are trapped by the birds.

    Brav breaks free and Kaan calls ice sharks to the rescue. Jerriko and Mantax battle a dragon for the last island. Kaan and Brav interrupt the battle, but it's too late. Jerriko places the pendant in the last slot thing. Kaan's locket bursts and the universe shakes. Sivard and Jorj are pulled away and are informed of stuff by the Divine Being. Sivard fids out he must protect the locket belonging to Silvia, although its purpose is unknown. Jorj finds out there will be a great battle, and that him or Qennto will die in it. Kaan dies and is then revived (a dark spirit following behind the hole that was opened for him - take not of this).

    Kaan declares flat-out war in Kalkar. A race to arms begins. Jorj and Qennto talk with new Commando agent Silverkitten. Minion reveals the Brotehrhood's attack strategy to Jerriko, which is to fire a frickin' giant laser beam of magic at everything. Kardossino and Silverkitte generate like 50 one line posts about riding an elevator. Jerriko decalres war too. Jorj and his scientists discover a mechanical solar-powered spy-bug underground in Rhysode. Jorj and Qennto develop elemental missile-launchers even though people use wooden ships still.

    Being a maverick, Brav launches Kalkar into the air and keeps it there, effectively making a floating self-sustainable island/fortress. The Commandos develop GIANT FLYING AIRSHIPS. Jerriko makes a CLONING SPELL and uses it on his army. Brav and Kaan take over the Island Turtle using electrical impulses at its brain and magical control to make A BATTLE TURTLE THE SIZE OF A SMALL ISLAND. Dweller, and Order operative, activates small light all over Rhysode showing "weak spots". The Order begins its assault upon Rhysode. Kalkar begisn floating over Rhysode, and the Brotherhood FIRES THEIR LAZORS BLAAAAAAAHH! Dravis is revived and put on Rhysode.

    In a desperate attempt to put the Island Turtle to good use before it died (its death was imminent, unfortunately), Brav uses his last power to levitate the turtle over rhysode and plop it down on top of the main fortress and surrounding area. I guess Silvia also died in this, since ShadowUmbreon stopped posting a while ago. An Order operative stops up a laser, blowing up ahlf of Kalkar and disabling the Brotherhood. kaan, who teleported away right before Kalkar blew up, is possessed by... Dravis? The possesor was, in fact, Dravis's evil that he had left behind in the spirit world and that had followed Kaan out. Dravis is now all good-two-shoes. Jerriko summons and unleashes The Phantom. Basically like the anti-Higher Being, Jerriko, owner of teh pendant, is the only one that can control it. Otherwise it would destroy the universe itself. (NOTE: It is also worshipped by the Shades, Dravis's race.) See pic:



    Dravis and Jerriko face-off. Dravis goes unconcious, but not before first permanently injuring Jerriko with his Shade sword, with a little assistance from Jorj. Dravis revived by his evil side, but he is now neutral again. Jorj and Jerriko face off. Qennto and Mantax (Jerriko's right-hand man) face-off. Dravis and Oddity (a super-powerful operative) face-off. Dravis wins and watches as Jorj and Jerriko battle for it all. Dravis is effectively bi-polar. Qennto is defeated, Dravis returns to the spirit-world due to an unforseen incident, and Jerriko and Jorj reach the climax of their fight.

    In the midst of battle Jorj and Jerriko reveal dialogue about Jorj's past, where-in Jerriko originally tried to recruit him and destroyed Jorj's hometown by trying to do so. Mantax is revealed to be un-killable due to experiments by Jerriko. Dravis becomes concious and tries killing teh Phantom, but dies in futility. Jorj is suddenly atken from behind by Mantax, and paralyzed. Time "stops" and he converses with the Higher Being. Qennto dies over that period of time. Jorj is told that he and Jerriko are opposite sides that will decide destruction or prosperity. Dravis is revealed to be the neutral that will tip the scales either way. Jorj is placed back in the real world to sob over Qennto's deceased body, and then recruits the ice-sharks at teh advice of Dravis, whom he councilled with in the nether-world.

    The final battle takes place in a fiery field, with red-hot geysers shooting fire out (originally meant to heat Rhysode). 20 pages of God-moding, Jerriko wins, blah-blah-blah. THE END

    So, basically, that's what happened. Jerriko won, Rhysode, the Commando capital, was destroyed, and the Brotherhood was disbanded and Kaan killed. Now it's time for:

    The Crumbling of Jerriko
    Jaws of Darkness II

    Setting:

    "In a lost age, in a universe not known to us, the universe was but a single planet, with islands ranging from ones that are the basic image of a deserted island to continents teeming with life. Strange creatures romaed the lands, and many were intelligent and recruited into armies The order enforcers of the universe, the Commandos, traveled by boat and kept the world in order... or at least they thought.

    In this universe, an organization called The Order of the Shadowed Ones was the main cause of trouble. The Order was a large group of theives, Bounty Hunters, and Rouges, all with unique abilities. Drawn from even the far edges of the universe, they would take jobs for reward, regardless of the risk it imposed to them. Led by Dannik Jerriko, otherwise known as The Shadowed One, the Order gathered members from everywhere known and after much time, the Order believed that they had all of the members they would need to conquer the universe and launched all-out attacks to try and conquer as many islands as they could, hoping they would conquer enough to take the universe as their own. But there were complications...

    Another organization, The Brotherhood of Darkness, which wasd an elite organization of beings of a... unique type of species. The members of the Brotherhood were...well.. you could say they had powers of great imangining, and you could call them sorcerers. Led by the mysteriousbeing only known as Kaan, they were working toward the same goal as the Order (Domination of the Universe), but in a more, subtle, quiet, and complex way. When they discovered the all-out attack made by the Order, they declared war, thinking that it would be a simple matter to eradicate the Order. But, once more, there were complications...

    A massive earthquake had rocked the universe, and that had sent it into chaos. Entire continents had been ripped apart by the tremors, others had simply seperated from one another. Others still were raveged to the point of where nobody in their right mind would live there. The Brotherhood's attempts to conquer areas with their army of Ice Sharks, amphibious, intelligent creatures, had resulted in that army being disbanded and ending up who knows where. To make matters even more complicated, The Commandos had awoken to the threat and were lating seige to fortresses of both organizations

    Nevertheless, The Order has still managed to get the better end of this three-way war. With all of the chaos ging on, they were still able to take more job requests and all of the jobs met with success. Many beings have tried to stop the war, and others have taken cover in their home islands."


    SEE SYNOPSIS OF STORY ABOVE

    With the Brotherhood now disbanded and the Commandos a traveling army, the Order has captured most of the Southern and Central universe. Dravis has left the Commandos and started his own successful nation, Litenacht, taken from Dravis's Shade-language for light and dark. It is now the only opposing nation to the Order, as the Commandos have lost their home. It's capital is in the northern seas, where a large technologically-advanced city lies. Litenacht's territory extends over the entire northern quarter as well as some of the eastern sea.

    The Order is now composed of mroe than just operatives, and Jerriko is starting his own peoples, a people tainted with dark magic. Originally the inhabitants of captured lands, Jerriko's influence has spread a darkness that blackens the skin of his subjects. Jerriko also sends out scouts to hunt for children with unique talents through-out his lands, and he takes them in, changing them into "operatives", mutants with special powers.

    The Commandos themselves are actually considerable in numbers. However, they have no base of operations. They have become sea-folk, and live on boats. Their head-quarters actually lie in their master ship, where Jorj resides. Also on the master ship is a larga library hosting most of the world's scripture that would otherwise be lost. The ship itself is actually a large, metal-plated galleon. Most Commandos travel in a large group of ships surrounding this master one, although a few travel from place to place. They generally keep to the autonomous area between Litenacht and Order territories.

    Lastly there are the free-men. Few in number, they are actually Apostrians (yellow-skinned folk that originally comprised the Brotherhood, they excelled at magic). The Apostrians dwell on the shattered pieces of Kalkar, still floating in the air. The pieces are generally large enough to host one, maybe two house-holds, although there exist a few bigger ones that host small farms. The largest one even has a small town on it where the Apostrians meet to trade items and hold council. The only way to reach this "city in the sky" is by airship or levitation spell, a trick only known by the Apostrians and a few with exceptional mastership in spell-casting.

    Shades, a cursed race of long life. They were born as skilled with the sword, and when practiced can almost never be defeated. They were killed by the Commandos because they were feared and evil. One or two could take on an entire division of men in an army and win. They were finally all killed when the Commandos decided to do a surprise attack on the Shade homes by launching flaming ammo via catapult.

    Position: First Citizen of Litenacht

    Appearance:



    Equipment: A traditional sword of the Shades that never dulls or breaks. Also a small dagger he keeps near his heel.

    Skills/Powers: A mastery of magic and swordsmanship. Also a slight amount of mind-reading.

    History: Dravis was born of nobility and was the heir to the throne of the Shades. He grew up in a palace and practiced in swordsmanship and breaking into minds, a power shared by his people. He was 18 when the commandos broke into his palace. Instead of using close combat they sent balls of fire soaring through the air. Even the Shades were defensless. Dravis never revealed how he survived, but once the Commandos left he swore an oath against them. Kaan found him and took him in. Dravis then became one of the most powerful brothers. He soon rose to power and became Kaan's righthand man.

    Equipment: a magical safefall umbrella given to her by her nanny, poisoned dagger, many, many knives

    Skills/Powers: Skilled with knives and swords, never met a lock she can't pick, powerful psychic but not very good at controlling it. Can cause pain with her voice or mind, but it is tricky to control.

    History: Francesca was born of the nobility, and is the youngest sister of Dravis. She grew up in the royal palace and practiced the mind control abilities of her people, while it was obvious she would one day be very powerful her training was incomplete.

    Her nanny was a double agent and knew of the attack beforehand, she couldn't bare to watch her young charge perish in the fire, and secreted her out of the palace hiding her in a house in the village. Unfortunately, the actions were seen as treason to the commandos and the nanny was slain as a traitor. They were unable to find the young girl, however.

    After a few days alone in the house, Franny realized she was on her own. She heard of the death of her family and all she held dear, and somehow managed to survive on her own. Uncertain who knew of her identity, she changed her name to Chess and teamed up with a gang of urchin orphans. Chess had to learn to fend for herself, she learned early the lesson that nothing in life is free and no one cares for you like you do. Life on the street wasn't easy, and she isn't proud of the misdeeds she was forced to commit to survive. In the beginning, her conscience troubled her, but now she can do nearly anything and sleep well the following night.

    When the chance arose, she gladly “took” the role of leadership within her gang and as they grew older they began taking odd jobs. When the first hit was called in, it was with trepidation that Chess accepted, but take it she did and the kill was an easy one. Now they are a band of hired killers.

    They call themselves the Knives of Darkness and are some of the best assassins in the universe.

    The members of the Knives have changed many times, but their timeless leader remains the same.

    Can they be secret/orderless until now, and that is how they are reunited, the leaders find out about them and try to recruit them?

    Well Dravis doesn't recruit, he just takes in anybody fleeing from/against the Order. Although he should try recruiting more, as the order's gaining many more members than Litenacht.

    Alright then, they are secret, sort of like the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion, until now, when Chess gets caught doing a job that went horribly wrong and is brought up on charges.

    Either that, or someone hires her to kill Dravis and there is a O_O moment when she finds one of her long lost siblings.

    Main NPCs. Feel free to control them to finish a post, but don't do anything plot changing with them. These are taken almost directly from Kardossino in his attempt to restart JoD, with a few changes to fit the new scheme.

    Name: Jorj Car'das
    Alias: Jorj
    Age: Almost 50, 30 years since the battle of Rhysode. Not that it matters. Jorj, being a chosen one of "good" is technically immortal until him or Jerriko dies.
    Gender: Male
    Species: Human
    Position: Leader of the Commando
    Appearance:



    Equipment: Dual warhammers with chains

    Skills: Can mimic (nearly) any skill he sees, perfectly and completely. With some powers, however, such as Jerriko's darkness control, he can't copy

    History:

    Jorj's homeland was attacked early in his life, and it was attacked by the Order to see if they could steal him and make them one of their own. Everyone he knew was killed in that attack, and after that day Jorj vowed to bring peace to the universe, at any cost. He created the Commandos for that purpose, but when the Order and the Brotherhood went to war, Jorj realized that he needed to take part in it as well. During the events of the Fall of Rhysode, Jorj's second in command was killed, and Jorj began to expirience pains in his body. He and the Commando remnants are on the run, hoping to gather enough power to destroy the Order and, if possible, kill Jerriko

    Name: Dannik Jerriko
    Age: 300 years or so
    Gender: Male
    Position: Leader of the Order
    Appearance:



    Weapons: Assasin's knives and razor disks, which are often stained with venom. Jerriko also has broadswords, and, when the Phantom is out, he can bring forth the powerful Sword of the Phantom

    Skills: With the Pendent of Shadow, Jerriko has control of various elements of magic, he can also step into a shadow, and reemerge in another shadow. He also has a venom which courses inside of him, fatal to all but himself, and a select few others. The venom transfers to the target on contact (so don't touch him).

    History:

    Dannik originaly came from an island of ice and darkness, one that wasn't guarded by Commandos, and, ironic enough, was treacherous with storms and monsters. When the Brotherhood of Darkness was first created, a native of his homeland rebelled against the laws to make a new life for himself. He became a bounty hunter of sorts, and, within time, transformed the peaceful society into a divided land led by warlords. That native hired himself out to whoever made the best offer, and would switch sides in an instant if he got a better offer. Dannik encountered the being and agreed with the wisdom of his actions. That was what started the idea of the Order,and, centuries later, he now leads hundreds of operatives throughout the known universe

    Well, seeing as how the RP actually progressed well with just 2 people, we will start tomorrow, but we will pick up in progress the day after since I while be riding planes for most of tomorrow.

    I started to say something about a pack instinct and how it felt nice to be in the presence of another... but then realized I have no idea if that is true.

    Shades are a unique species of the universe. They originally developed alongside Apostrians (if you'd like to know about them I can give a brief summary too) as the magical race, a human tribe gifted by the Higher Being with amazing magical talents. However, a split soon came between the two clans, and Shades (Then called Epostrians) were kicked out of their homeland. Unfortunately the rest of the world was in a hostile war, so the Shades started a race underground of their homeland (which, incidentally, was Kalkar, where magic springs up beneath the ground).

    The Shades were soon warped underground by the magic, which sped up teh evolutionary process. Soon all Shade children were born with very pale skin. The magic also seeped into their blood, and Shades became incredibly proficient with magic, and became their own species altogether. They also became an immortal race, although they could still be killed through normal means. Soon, however, the brotherhood was formed by the Apostrians living upstairs, and the Epostrians were once again kicked out. The Shades soon found out that they could not stand to be in sunlight for very long, earning their name.

    They finally settled in a land where it was always cloudy. Their race became feared for its ghostly appearnce. Shades also had this habit of becoming animalistic sometimes, which alienated other nations. The Royal Stone was developed soon after nations began declaring war on the Shades. It calmed down Shades and also gave them higehr magical powers. It also drained their immortality, however.     Shades have mind-reading powers. As well, certain ones can perform slight mind-control Jedi style. They are exceptional at magic, but this power can only be unlocked at a certain age that differs from Shade to Shade, but is usually under 20. Shades have better-than-average reflexes,a s well as a better brain for knowledge. They do not like prolonged exposure to the sun, which is why most wear hood at all times. They find the moon captivating, and many can be seen staring at it during a full moon. Shades need only one or two hours of sleep every twenty-four hours.

    Well, it's not like boiling skin form the sun, sunlight only provides a gradual irritation that may eventually lead to melting, not something accumulated over a day. Besides, the sun doesn't shine at night.
