Since this probably won't be a retarded debate between Mario The Black Knight and Giant Squid which ultimately does not end, I pose the question: what is your view on the effects of mescaline, salvia divinorum, lysergic acid diethylamide, psilocybin, dimethyltryptamine
(or however the fuck you spell that), etc.? Having used salvia (it is legal - it is sold at Dr. Hermann's in Affleck's Palace in my home city of Manchester, England, and all you need is proof that you're 18, which can either be a valid ID or just the fact that you have a massive beard), having read "The Doors of Perception" by Aldous Huxley, and having generally associated with the people of a drug-taking variety in real life, as well as foreshadowed my consumption of mescaline at some point this year, I can comfortably say that I don't speak from a position of retarded ignorance - I'm not a chemist or a master gardener - rather an amateur chemist and intermediate gardener - but I still feel I have a sufficient knowledge about this to at least initiate a sensible discussion.
So what is your opinion? Obviously parties such as the Green party would legalise drugs as it "simply does not work", especially considering how easy it is to just buy a peyote cactus, how easy it is for amateur chemists to produce crystal meth (not that that's entirely relevant), and how psychoactive alkaloids don't cause violence and aren't generally a huge problem for society, as well as not being addictive. Obviously as the philosopher C.D. Broad has said, psychadelic drugs disable our ability to care about and be preoccupied by our mundane functions, and instead reach a greater level of being, described intently by Plato and Meister Eckhart.
So, hopefully some of you have opinions on this. What is your opinion on the reaching of a greater sense of perception and being through psychadelic drugs? I am perfectly prepared for somebody just calling all hippies 'fags' and leaving it purely at that, by the way, so if you're one of those people (which there will be now I've specifically warned against doing it, most likely Solly will do it), then I have predicted you. Also, philosophy + drugs = megaphilosophy.
