Pokemon Black and White

Anounced today on the Japanese pokemon website later this year (thought to be August or September so around this time next year for the USA) the new 5th gen pokemon black and white games will be released. That is all that has been released though for them besides to of there pokemon a few months ago which where zorhach (ZOR- ACK) and its base form zorhua (ZOR-EW-AH).

Er, no? 'Black' and 'white' are so general and non-specific that you can apply them to anything. My desk is black and white. Does that mean the makers were being racist towards white and black people? Don't think so. Maybe if the games were called Pokemon Cracka and Nigger version you could say they're racist.

Anyway, I don't like these titles, they sound like something the early Pokemon games should have been called, not the 5th generation.

theyll probably be 'Pokemon Darkness' and 'Pokemon Light' or 'Pokemon Good' and 'Pokemon Evil' or something. i mean White America hasn't heard about this yet only CoroCoro magazine and a few of the people on the internet, so naturally theyre gonna change the titles.

nothing racist about the titles. that said, potentially funny jokes made about them can be tolerated since that's just how we roll. if someone is going to be legitimately upset with these by title alone, i'd advise them not to read this thread (or any corner of the internet regarding these games really) any further.

that said, pokemon black starts off in a ghetto. pokemon white starts off in a middle class suburb.

I've seen some people give up after 493 were made, its unlikely we'll reach 600, but somewhere near there. Haven't they ever seen sequels to movies, most of them suck, theres a point where you stop, I think 493 was enough.

Do Americans think of nothing but racism at all times? When I first heard the news racism was definitely the last thing on my mind.

I still think that the translation will turn it into something like Pokemon Obsidian and Pokemon Chrome or something, though White and Black are nice.

Yeah in all honesty I never liked 3D that much it kinda makes things look more fake then they already are in pokemon.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike used 2D images with 3D perspective for its maps and it was awful. Advance Wars: Dark Conflict went back to top down 2D and it's great. I think 3D is all or nothing: you either make all the images in a scene 3D or none of them.

Why didn't Gamefreak just stick with the pseudo-3D look of D/P/P? Also, why ruin a graphical style that's worked perfectly for every iteration of the core series since day one? Full 3D just doesn't work well with sprites, especially on the DS's low-res screens.

Ugh.
