As a matter of fact watch Colbert too, good episodes.
Stewart and Colbert are gods.
When the Devil is too busy
And Death's a bit too much
They call on me by name you see,
For my special touch.
I still firmly believe Colbert cannot stand alone. I liked him way more as a part of the Daily Show than having his own show. He used to be boss in those old Comedy Central series' that rocked and are never on anymore.
Strangers with candy? His part wasnt big enough for me in that.
I disagree tim. He does fine on his own, if you've watched his show from the start (not saying you havent, i have no idea if you frequently watch) you would notice how much he refined it. He used to do a segment called "Formidable Opponent" where he'd debate himself on a big issue. I don't know why he stopped doing that.
Give him time to perfect his show, Stewarts been on the air for 10 years that's plenty of time to make it perfect. Just to give you hope, DIRECT QUOTE from Jon Stewart on one of his shows, i believe he said it to Bill O'Reiley:
"That boy is the future of fake news". Boy being colbert. Expect good things.
So far it seems the Colbert show can stand on his own. Although people don't watch it for the politics as much as viewers of the Daily Show do, Colbert typically delivers more laughs an episode than John on a regular basis.
An offset to this is that Colbert is at best a supplemental character, that's why he's had to include features like the word so he can get his viewpoint across without breaking character. For him to reach the same character as Stewart he would have to drop the act and start contributing more to the political aspect.
