Why does any pokemon game need a remake? If r/s didn't desrve it then I say fucking g/s didn't deserve a remake.
Since Nintendo made the DSi there is an argument for RS remakes, and indeed RB ones. It all comes down to trading compatibility and pokemon availability.
Basically, Gen I/II and Gen III were mutually exclusive. Trading was impossible between pre- and post-GBA games. Then they made the DS and came up with a clever method of letting III trade with IV. But with the DSi you can't do that anymore. A lot of pokemon might be available in IV, but not all of them, I'm betting. They'll remake III at some point, or shove it all in V.
because the game mechanics had changed HUGELY between Gen 1 and 4, Gen 2 didn't even have proper colour, so actually, G/S/C did need a remake, R/S/E has most of the game mechanics in it, it has proper colour, it's a set of games that is still fine how it isOriginally Posted by Kirby

Well to be fair XD and Coloseum were fun and were a good break from the monotonous franchise but other than that they were just an excuse for you to spend money on catching Pokémon - it's basically "Pay Ł40 for Pokémon you don't have yet but will be released eventually on the main series anyway, but why wait?" So, no, since in Gen 4 you could easily catch every Pokémon I don't think that will happen.

Too soon, however I'm 95 % sure they're going to get a remake.
I'm sure that they're shaking on the idea of making a remake. I don't think that they will make a remake of the game, but a new adventure that takes place in the Hoenn Region. Steven Stone will be there referencing what had happened X amount of years ago. I'm sure it would be for the 3DS and hopefully something new and good actually comes from it. But I doubt it entirely.
