the only jrpg i ever enjoyed playing was pokemon. i doubt ill like any final fantasy.
13 had some glaring issues but was still kind of enjoyable. Hope can go fucking die though. Lightning is only really the main character during the first few arcs, then it turns to Hope, then Sazh and Vanille and finally the Pulse duo. It didn't really center on a "main" character.
Sazh saved the game. Best character in the last 3 RPG Final Fantasy games
-.---.----..
I rather liked Hope. Though none of the characters in XIII were completely awesome.
i think 7 8 9 and 10 are the only ones i've beaten. got to the last boss in 4 but could never beat him, got to the last dungeon of the first game after a week of non stop playing but then got really really sick and never picked it back up. pretty far on 6 too but it got too hard and i never felt like engaging in the extra leveling up i would've needed to deal with the new dungeons.
oh and tactics too, which was the shit. still cant believe i got through those last few bosses considering how under prepared i was.
I have not played 1 or 2, I have 3 and have played like an hour but stopped. IV I've beaten a few times and love. I just got the DS one not too long ago and should play through again. V has the best job system of the numbered games (nothing beats tactics), and the story was p good, but I've never actually beaten it. VI is one of my favorites by far, top 3 for sure.
VII was always just a great game to me, never one of my favorites (ironic considering my name), I just restarted it last night and the nostalgia is too good, it really is one of my favorites who am I kidding. tactics is god damn amazing. I've beaten VIII, despite hating it mostly. the first disc is pretty good, the music is phenomenal, but moon monsters and shit is just derp. IX will always be my favorite, I've beaten it like 8 times.
X is ehhhhhh ok, again great music. X-2 was bluh in every way. XII was actually fun, I liked the battle system a lot and the whole game, I just wish they didn't forget to add a story. they also shoehorned vaan in just to have a main character be "relatable" to youth or some shit. this game would have been like 1000 times better if basch was the main character. XIII I did enjoy, but fuck how linear it was. there aren't even any fucking towns or civilians to talk to.
-.---.----..
The "towns" are there to be pretty, and for you to continue on your path of linearity. No inns or item shops or anything. >_>
It is a gorgeous game to look at. That's for sure. That one point where it opens up is pretty damn fun, and then another long series of hallways until the end. I mean fuck how could you fuck up this bad?
-.---.----..
I didn't even bother with the final boss and his cheapness. It's been over a year and I still haven't beaten the guy because I stop caring once I remember the fake difficulty of the fight.
i hate the new style graphics. i hate videogame graphics in general nowadays, nothing has character or distinction anymore
You have an annoying majority of next gen faggots who feel entitled to an experience that will rape their eyes with a very lush environment. If it even so much as looks like something from a month ago, you've got this army of shit heads who come running.
And then the story turns out to be shit, but they don't care so long as they can sell it as eye candy.

thats why i like nintendo seymour. they dont rely on incredibly lush visuals to present their story arcs.

Though awesome graphics can add great icing to the cake.
