Pokemon is one of those rare games where I actually like playing competitively more. I mean I don't even like playing SSB (any version) competitively, and that's one of my favourite games of all time.
idk, it's more of a challenge to actually put thought into the moveset and put effort into training them from a low level, but a fun, interesting challenge, not a frustrating one. training from a low level doesn't matter to me much anyway since I spend most of my time that I play, battling, so up until lv20s and 30s they grow super fast. it's oddly satisfying to watch their exp bar shoot up
