    Default cursive

a question to kids who have been in elementary school relatively recently. do they still actually spend such an outrageous amount of time teaching cursive, of all the useless time wasting of things?

Uhh, we did get forced to learn it back in like 5th grade, but we haven't used it since. :/

i remember we spent a significant portion of the entire 3rd grade learning fucking CURSIVE of all things. no wonder the us education system is so embarrassing. and does it really take 5 years of elementary school to get through basic arithmetic.

I remember my mum feeding me the same bullshit as everyone else: "you have to learn cursive, because you're required to write everything that way in high school." BULLSHIT. SHITTING BULLS JALKDJF;ALKDSJ;A

i remember spending a bunch of time learning it as well. my cursive is actually really nice in terms of handwriting and i got a lot of compliments on it when i did use it, but my print is lolfucking bad chicken scratch. since i don't often write in cursive my cursive is now shit as well so my hand writing in general looks awful. my typing is top notch though!

Don't tell me you all spent actual time learning to write cursive.

We were just taught the basics in a class or two in second grade, had to use it till fourth grade, and then they didn't care what we did with our handwriting. My handwriting is now an interesting mixture, modified accordingly for speed, and I'm quite pleased with it because it's neat. Really, that's all you need.

probably the smartest thing i've seen you post kirby.

@ trixie that's a good explanation. that's why my writing is so bad, because i'm scribbling so fast when i do write. i can read it and that's the important thing!

I only write cursive when I hand write a letter to a friend or a penpal.
But snail mail isn't used because of email and so on. I like cursive but that's about it. I do use print more often then I do with cursive.
Makes me wonder how it used to be, when you had to handwrite everything for official purposes.

Despite the fact that he used two words that aren't in the dictionary. ( Illeligible, supposably)

for future reference: ILLEGIBLE and SUPPOSEDLY are real words. Use them instead.

i understood his observation and agreed with it. i don't penalize people points for having hand muscle spasms on their keyboards at points. ojim clearly doesn't approve of compliments for kirbitude.

I wouldn't have said anything if they weren't spasms/ random typos.. he believes those are real words. He may be somewhat knowledgeable of certain things, but it doesn't excuse him from being a moron.

hi eve. objectively speaking your hand writing is fine and kinda nice. girls tend to have nicer hand writing anyway. if i wasn't about to leave i'd take the time to post my chicken scratch.

How do you pronounce probably? Probedly?

Here's an example of chicken scratch. This is my everyday handwriting you'll see on most documents besides store applications. Don't bother reading unless you feel like having a stroke.
