I've read ALL the books.
I preferred him before the mind wipe.
You saw nothing.
I made this up as I went, but here is a religious concept for the world
ervanremoh (12:16:15 PM): Speaking of, what are the gods like here?
ervanremoh (12:16:18 PM): Are there any?
Kittenclaw82 (12:16:30 PM): There is a Light and a Dark Entity
Kittenclaw82 (12:16:32 PM): brothers
Kittenclaw82 (12:16:35 PM): They rest outside of time
Kittenclaw82 (12:16:55 PM): with the rift created with the breaking of the mirror the dark one can touch the world
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:06 PM): the creator usually keeps his brother locked away from creation
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:17 PM): but his influence has been creeping in for over 2,000 years
ervanremoh (12:17:22 PM): Hmm...
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:23 PM): allowing the world to conceive of evil
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:32 PM): they are mostly unaware of the entities
ervanremoh (12:17:32 PM): Umm...
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:42 PM): Before the mirror, before the rift, there was no evil
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:48 PM): it was a eutopia
ervanremoh (12:17:49 PM): Except for the queen.
Kittenclaw82 (12:17:56 PM): The queen wasn't evil before the mirror
ervanremoh (12:17:58 PM): I thought the queen was evil?
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:00 PM): she was beautiful and just
ervanremoh (12:18:01 PM): O_o
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:03 PM): the mirror corrupted her
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:04 PM): slowly
ervanremoh (12:18:13 PM): How did the mirror get there, then?
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:13 PM): Ultimate power corrupts
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:28 PM): A mysterious sorcerer gave it to the Queen
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:36 PM): It could have been the dark one in disguise
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:43 PM): He wants to break the world and remake it in his image
ervanremoh (12:18:48 PM): So there was evil before the mirror broke.
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:53 PM): Outside of time
Kittenclaw82 (12:18:56 PM): Not in the world
ervanremoh (12:18:57 PM): Sorry, I just need to follow the logic.
Kittenclaw82 (12:19:19 PM): In the beginning, there were the two brothers, the good brother created the world and wouldn't let his brother play with his shiny new toy
ervanremoh (12:19:27 PM): The dark one who was locked away gave the queen an evil artifact.
ervanremoh (12:19:37 PM): Is that what happened?
Kittenclaw82 (12:19:51 PM): It's locked in mystery how the artifact came to be, all that is known is that it was given to the queen
Kittenclaw82 (12:19:57 PM): the only one left who remembers this is Pandora
ervanremoh (12:19:58 PM): Oh, okay.
ervanremoh (12:20:02 PM): Hand wave, gotcha.
Kittenclaw82 (12:20:14 PM): She was a small child when it occured
Kittenclaw82 (12:20:20 PM): she watched her mother be corrupted by the mirror
ervanremoh (12:20:23 PM): We'll chalk that up to fridge logic and move on.
Kittenclaw82 (12:20:29 PM): fridge?
ervanremoh (12:20:33 PM): Fridge logic.
ervanremoh (12:20:44 PM): Things which don't make sense when you think about them.
Kittenclaw82 (12:20:58 PM): oh hey, found a pic without the cape http://www.lordrinja.com/shopphotos/..._adultguts.gif
ervanremoh (12:20:58 PM): Stuff like how there could be evil before evil.
ervanremoh (12:21:00 PM): That sort of thing.
Kittenclaw82 (12:21:06 PM): It's a paradox
ervanremoh (12:21:19 PM): And that's called a hand wave.
ervanremoh (12:21:33 PM): Where you don't give an explanation, just say that that is how things are.
ervanremoh (12:21:47 PM): If you acknowledge that it makes no sense then that's lampshading.
Kittenclaw82 (12:22:00 PM): The evil one probably found a loophole in his brother's laws and discovered that while he couldn't directly influence the world, he could give a gift seemingly out of benevolence
Kittenclaw82 (12:22:04 PM): which he knew would corrupt the user
ervanremoh (12:22:18 PM): I like the probably.
Kittenclaw82 (12:22:23 PM): So while he couldn't directly cause evil
ervanremoh (12:22:26 PM): Relax, we can live with a few handwaves.
ervanremoh (12:22:48 PM): I just wanted to follow this where it was going.
ervanremoh (12:22:51 PM): So.
Kittenclaw82 (12:22:52 PM): he did so indirectly by bestowing a seemingly good gift that would expound internal flaws which all humans possess
ervanremoh (12:23:19 PM): Evil god has influence on world through rifts of doom, dark cults and what have you.
ervanremoh (12:23:26 PM): Good god influences by...?
Kittenclaw82 (12:23:47 PM): He doesn't seem to directly effect the world, once created he only watches.
ervanremoh (12:23:56 PM): Okay.
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:01 PM): People say that magical energy is derived from him
ervanremoh (12:24:03 PM): No worshippers or anything?
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:10 PM): and so the existance of mages are due to him
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:13 PM): indirectly
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:23 PM): Some people might worship, but most people are atheist
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:25 PM): or at least agnostic
ervanremoh (12:24:27 PM): Interesting.
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:30 PM): they dont believe in either good or evil
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:47 PM): There might be cults
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:52 PM): and people who believe even in false gods
Kittenclaw82 (12:24:58 PM): ancestor worship
Kittenclaw82 (12:25:01 PM): and reincarnation exists
ervanremoh (12:25:15 PM): But mostly non-religious?
Kittenclaw82 (12:25:19 PM): Mostly
ervanremoh (12:41:16 PM): Is the Myrian Empire evil?
Kittenclaw82 (12:41:32 PM): not by definition, but it is like the roman empire
ervanremoh (12:41:37 PM): Or at least morally dubious.
Kittenclaw82 (12:41:44 PM): Dubious, yes
Kittenclaw82 (12:42:00 PM): The empire is expanding to accommodate the expanding empire.
ervanremoh (12:42:29 PM): I assume you mean population.
Kittenclaw82 (12:42:43 PM): No, I meant what I said.
ervanremoh (12:42:59 PM): That doesn't really make sense.
Kittenclaw82 (12:43:10 PM): it's circular reasoning
ervanremoh (12:43:18 PM): That's my point.
ervanremoh (12:43:35 PM): It's also awful logic.
Kittenclaw82 (12:43:44 PM): People do it.
ervanremoh (12:43:50 PM): It expands because it has to expand to make room for the expansion.
ervanremoh (12:43:55 PM): I'm sure they do.
Kittenclaw82 (12:44:01 PM): Yes, that's it exactly.
Kittenclaw82 (12:44:13 PM): It is slowly taking over the continent
Kittenclaw82 (12:44:19 PM): but its spread pretty thin right now, expanding too quickly to be held securely, so the lawlessness prevails the farther from the capitol you get. Most big cities are held well in all countries, but outlying areas are dangerous
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:09 PM): They believe in the empire
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:17 PM): and they believe that the empire is the right way
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:19 PM): they are civilized
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:23 PM): the rest of the world is barbaric
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:30 PM): the dwarves are rough and common
ervanremoh (12:53:31 PM): So they use conquest to spread civilisation.
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:36 PM): the elves are puny and weak
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:42 PM): in their opinion
Kittenclaw82 (12:53:52 PM): the dwarves and elves enjoy their own civilization
Great posts guys.
Muttsy, I particularly loved this line:
“Oh a club is a simple thing really.” She said “Friends, fortune, fame. That's what it said Avalynn, this is perhaps one of those rare opportunities. We shouldn't pass it up.”
It made me LOL... that's too awesome

Still using the stealth post technique huh ed? I searched the whole thread for your profile before I thought to highlight that post.
It's under wraps while I think.
You. Solly is the paper golem.
Sorry, but my character doesn't know the name of your character yet. That's why I manufactured the sign up sheet. Make the exchange of names a bit easier.
Nvm, I'll just hope I got it right, if not I'll change it later.
That's fine, it would be a logical assumption on the part of your character. Great post.
Though just a warning, my character is likely to insist your character take a horse even if he doesn't ride it all the time in case they need to make a hasty get away.
I'll wait until Solly and Muttsy catch up before I post again, though if they don't by this evening I will post again.
