S.T.A.B. (Same Type Attack Bonus) is an attack bonus given to a monster if it uses a move that is the same type as its own (Example: Pikachu using Thundershock.)
If Pikachu uses Thundershock, it will be 1.5X more powerful than if a Zigzagoon used it.
You might say, "Small pickings," but what if Pikachu uses it against a Gyarados?
(Pikachu uses Thundershock, and it receives the S.T.A.B.)
Thundershock = 1.5
(Thundershock hits Gyarados, and it takes double damage from Water's weakness to Electricity.)
Thundershock(1.5) X Water Weakness(2) = 3
(Thundershock hits Gyarados, and it takes double damage again due to Flying's weakness to Electricity.)
Thundershock(1.5) X Water Weakness(2) X Flying Weakness(2) = 6
Thus, a move that would normally do 4 times the damage without S.T.A.B., actually does 6 times the damage. This is why you should check your monsters' Types and Weaknesses!

They could give the dragon Eevee wings and then it would be flying as well.
And make Leafia grass/poison then that would solve your other penchant.
And if they gave Eevee 3 new evolutions as it originally had, then we could add steel to that list and abort the ice type. Then I think most of us would be happy.

Everyone I've ever known who's into Pokemon has said for years "Why isn't there a grass Evee??" voila.
Actually, I made a thread on proboard PD that listed lots of different kinds of possible Pokemon in a poll, with the question, "What new Pokemon would YOU like to see??" Steel type and Dragon type Eevee were in the lead.
Steel eevee = Chromeon
Flying (I would love this) = Cloudeon? idk
Dragon = Scaleon!

I'd LOVE a Dragon-type Eeveelution... Unfortuantely, IF it ever happens, I bet it won't be for a long time. The creators will probably want to hold off on that for a while, since it obviously wouldn't fit in with the usual furry eevee layout. >.>
