    This also leads, in later generations, to complaints that the new ones are "too unoriginal" and/or "too different" and that the 1st gen's Pokémon were the best and most original and most different. Despite the fact that a number of the Pokémon (while memorable) were...just bigger versions of the others. Muk is just a bigger Grimer, Electrode is a bigger upside-down Voltorb, Magneton is three Magnemite, etc. Newer Pokémon also have basis in more obscure, interesting animals, plants, and legendary creatures, so the artists and developers have to be more creative than they used to be.
