I concur.
It sucks that I can't put as much time as I want into it (me being at school and all), but it's really an amazing game. It really works best if you set yourself a goal, and that goal could be just as simple as trying to survive, carve out a rudimentary shelter, go out exploring (under and above ground), etc. In fact, I find it best to just start out doing that, and work your way up to that dream palace.
The Lego comparison is quite apt, if I say so myself.
On the OTHER HAND:
Forcing us to pay money to play what is essentially a WORK-IN-PROGRESS is not cool, and most people on here who do play have a pirated version, so maybe the server thing won't work too well...

That's one for planes. It's kinda complex to install (takes about 5 minutes) but gets you flying around, shooting, and bombing in planes. It's really sweet.

I downloaded and forwarded the ports on my machine, it should be capable of running a server now. If anyone's interested about the IP address just let me know. OR if you belong to a cool server I'm looking for one to join. Preferably one that doesn't lag.

Bumping because the 1.9 prerelease just came out.
Anyone still playing Minecraft? What do you think about the new content that's been added, i.e. hunger, villages, creative mode?
Also, if anyone wants a server, I should have one up and running in a few days or so. Depends on various factors, though (whether Notch (and by "Notch" I mean "Jeb") is going to update again soon and bug up the servers again, whether I can get a server tower up and running, whether I find more people).
I still play.
