so I was wondering is it absolutely necessary to have a friend code and Nintendo WiFi connection to make trades? if so I'm screwed for a bit.. but if not cool. lol ok more quandaries later.

yes aside from non-personal things like GTS trades and battle tower

but aside from that aweful features yes

um trade/ use a stone/ some random ingame feature

All I know is it won't evolve normally.

lol yeah man I know... thats why I would like to trade it so it evolves. yikes! I know I'm a noob and all but I'm smart enough to research what needs to be done to accomplish the goal. hell one of the BEST pokemon sites I've seen is at my finger tips. This place has an AWESOME pokedex and I thank the patient and passionate person that took the time to build it.

you should go over to another pokemon forums. there aren't too many people who like pokemon here anymore. But that doesn't mean you won't be able to find some one to trade with.
Might be easier to trade with a offline friend.

"awesome convos"? honestly this conversation is slowly slipping into a coma... for me that is.. mainly cuz I was looking for a yes or no and or informative answer to my question. Besides one person...Kirby... I have been begged to stay and then told to leave cuz no one here is going to help me.

for a community that says they want activity you sure as hell do a good job of driving it away. now that not to say I'm leaving but I'd highly consider pming someone with my questions rather than create a new thread only to be bogged down by kid like bullshit.

You have to have a wifi connection if you're going to do trades long distance... if you have someone within 100 yards or so, you can just use the DSi own wireless capabilities.

Fortunately for me... I've got a kid, and we've ended up now with two DS's and two DSi's....so I can do my Trade Evo's right here at the house... except I can't trade with the lower generations on my Black... so I can't trade over my event Celebi to get my Zorbua.... GAH!
