University Courses!
So yeah, now that I'm in the year where I'm seriously considering my future, I was wondering which basket PD put their apples in. So yeah, they were/are going to be your choices?
I'm mainly considering PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and International Relations.

Im going to do a Nursing degree in some kind of university. Not sure which one, though Bangor University is known for a good Psychology course and good Nursing course.. so Probably there, and its the closest to me.. and I was born there. All works out
possibilities are giving me a headache. there's a lot that i'd be good at but the idea of actually specialising in an area that doesn't excite me is just depressing. the only thing i really want to do (medicine) is the hardest goddamn thing to get into over here. like, i cannot stress how difficult it would be to get into it because it's the one course every genius in the country is pressured into doing.
Economics is useful, politics is a joke, and philosophy is fun as hell. International relations and economics is the only thing that's getting you a job though. And how many languages can you speak. I recommend three in all seriousness.Originally Posted by Ninetails 009

you know what? i get told all the time i should study medicine, which i have barely any interest in doing. since i'm a first of class/genius (whatever), people are saying i'd have no trouble getting in, which is probably true, and that i'd help quebec's huge lack of doctors, which is also true.
i feel really bad about that cause i know a lot of people who'd love to do that but can't while i easily could but don't want to. aside from my family, which is insanely pressuring me, i've been asked multiple times by my teachers, friends, and even people who i barely know. i'm 15 ffs, i still very well may end up in medicine, i'm just tired of everyone telling me to.
Teaching shit.
If I could do it all over again I probably would have done business and worked for my uncle's firms. UH.

heh... the way the schools have set up down here... I'd have to take an assload worth of unrelated, useless crap before I could take the few classes I'd need to finish. I'm still looking in to a way to get around that though.
You would have another 3 years or so to get Special Ed. Cert. right? It's like that in most states. Stop bitching and get it done. Do you think I like spending 5 years of my life going into debt for learning things I don't really care about to get my degree? No. But I do it, so get your ass in gear young man!

starting in a mathematics and economics program when i transfer in the fall. i wouldnt mind just being an academic all my life.
Community college here for a year then not quite sure afterwards. Mizzou is the best school for Journalism but I don't want to move too far from St. Louis. So probably SLU.

there's a comfortable living to be made if you get a position at a decent school. at least enough to invest on the side if you know what you're doing.
Yeah, I can deal with it. as soon as I get into Meramac I'm going into a Journalism program it has.
