i have no idea how that system works actually. in canada its k+6 years of primary school, then 5 years of secondary, and after that you're free, unless you don't want to die flipping patties at a McD's, in which case you can go to cegep for 1-3 yrs and then college.

yeah i guess its pretty much the same everywhere. the brits have sixth form and 'college' (are they the same?) but rest of their system is similar. canada seems to be the only one thats different.
i still don't get the concept of middle schools. changing schools twice in the space of 2 years must be pretty stressful. :/
also rayne english canada doesn't have cégeps afaik. i really don't know what they do after 11th grade.

Man, your schooling systems sound very odd. Down here it's Prep-6, then 7-12, then college/university. I don't really see the point of changing schools so often.

I went from kindergarten to tenth grade in the same school.
Of course, it was subdivided into primary, middle and high.

Ours had the "preuniversity" years tacked on too, but they were isolated from the rest of the school, and anyway, I didn't go there.

All depends on which type of school you go to. There's this private religious school that's not far from where I live (Christ The King), and I'm guessing they go k-8th because they have a playground and little kids who go there too. The elementary schools in our district at first did not have 6th grade in the elementary building, but middle school center (think it was called Mc.Nair) closed down and it was added to the schools. Now they're getting rid of it because Brittany Woods is going to be accepting 6th graders to 8th graders next year. They have already start building the floor so I can't go down the stairs from science. It's the only middle school we have that is public, and U.city is the only public high school.
Oh, and when I came into middle I was 13. Now I'm fourteen (born 2/18/97) so I'm not surprised that beastharoxus is 14 in the eighth. By the way, I usually hear funny and crazy school stories from one of my friends. It's hilarious.
