ninetails your argument rests on a false premise. you assume that i did, and thus others would, make this thread because i noticed you in particular deleting these threads/posts. when in reality i noticed it because i looked at the moderation log in the admin cp. which only i and mewtwo have access to. the likely hood of anyone else being able to notice who was doing the deleting, and thus who to make a thread to, is slim at best. this is the only feasible way an appreciation thread could have come into existence.
Nope. The most feasible way for an appreciation thread to come into existence was for you to start one praising yourself. And it wouldn't even have to depend on your fickle moderator log fetishes.
that wouldn't have been a true appreciation thread. the point of an appreciation thread is to make the recipient feel appreciated -- and in order to be truly successful the recipient should not have previously felt substantially appreciated. were i to make my own appreciation thread, as the giver and receiver of the appreciation would be one in the same, i would have already felt the full appreciation that the thread could have brought. furthermore, the responses would simply be acknowledgments of my REQUEST for appreciation, rather than a spontaneous outpouring of appreciation. in short, i would never have felt the genuine appreciation an appreciation thread is meant to impart.
