Now it is time that I post my avocado basil mayonnaise recipe. I got it from a vegan cook book. No, I am not a vegan, I just enjoy reading recipes. It uses avocado for the fat instead of eggs.
Avocado Basil Mayonnaise
1 Avocado
1 lemon or lime
A few leaves of basil, chiffonade cut
A drizzle of olive oil
A little dijon mustard
A little salt
A dash of tabasco sauce
Optional:
Minced garlic
Diced scallion
A pinch of cayenne
Squish avocado with a fork until it's smooth, drizzle with a little olive oil, mix in basil, and the other stuff too. Adding a bit of lime or lemon zest and some of the juice will keep the avocado from browning and it tastes really nice too. If it's a bit stiff, add a little more olive oil, or more juice to loosen it up.
The recipe originally called for minced garlic but I am not a fan of raw garlic, it also called for diced scallion, but I don't like that raw either. It also called for cayenne but I think that makes it too spicy, the tabasco is enough, anything more really detracts from the taste.
Then you just spread it on your bread like mayo, but its so much better.
The bad thing is it makes like a cup of stuff, but I mean, there is no way one person can use all that before it goes bad. The good thing is, its pretty cheap (total cost is probably like $1-$2) to make so it isnt a big deal to throw it away if you don't use it all.
I like to put it on BLTs, but it's also nice on just about any sammich on which you would normally put mayo. Makes one feel fancy, pip pip cheerio.
Ooh this sounds good. I think I will make some and go on a sandwich bender.
Just do it.
Hey Keke!
Hmm, that gives me an idea... I could post recipes from cookbooks though I've never made them myself.

made the favorite pasta sauce i've ever made yesterday, with a bunch of anchovies and olives. heating it up now and decided to hit that shit with some lemon juice, now its even better.
I made spaghetti the other day but it was pretty simple, and less fishy.

I make pizza sauce/pasta sauce.
Put everything in a blender
1 tomato
2 cloves of garlic.
a hand full of cilantro.
a table spoon of basil(fresh is better)
a table soon of Italian seasoning.
12 ounce can of tomato paste
1/4 cup of sugar
2 table spoons or more of olive oil.
Next time I'll add olives.
I still need help with pizza dough.

I decided to try and use high extraction flour next time. I don't know how it's going to turn out. By the way did you ever get that ice cream book. If you did how did things go.
i don't make pizza alot. i HAVE but i don't remember the recipe i used for the dough. i've been tryin to get the recipe we use at our italian recipe. but it's harder than you would think.
