What the hell is happening up over there? Usually when a site goes down, the forums just do down, not the whole fucking thing. I know they where having trouble with lag, but this is ridculus. Now even there server for battling is down, you have to choose between pokemon online or pokemon battle center, and both are aweful rule wise.
Mewtwo this is our shot! Place one of these mother fuckers on the server and we are homefree as far as members!

They aren't aweful, but I still hate them. I am trying to build a rep there, and change things, most of there post counts are mad low (highest is about 8000) so I might be able to yank in and change things.

It hilarious, some people are so irgnorant, that they refuse to see the diferences between Ubers like Mewtwo, and ones like Blaziken. I tried to use that in an arguement, where I said Blaze-Blaziken should be allowed, but then they used the the classical slippery slope shit on me. It came down to they are so moronic, that they can't difereniate Ubers, from the true Ubers, from the OU-banned ones.
smogonites go by a dumb chain reaction of usage methods, and the ones that win by chance are put into the dex as the official moveset

Honestly, I have seen in videos, and experienced myself, curse and dragon dance tyranitar sets, yet you never ever see one in the analysis. Useage is a good part of tiering, I mean no one wants Flygon in UU, but for it to work the other way around is kind of backwards, some pokemon just don't belong in UU, as in OU. They try to fill in there mindset with all this logic, when the truth is its what poeple want.

In my experience, Smogon only post the more popular sets to inspire people to create unique sets for themselves. Just because a set isn't posted on Smogon doesn't mean it's wrong. No one, especially Smogon, are saying these are the only sets, or even that these sets are the best. The metagame changes and shifts constantly; overused pokes eventually become underused because people make counters to them, then those counters, and the pokemon that used to be countered become popular, and so on and so forth.
I'm not going to say Smogon is perfect, because it's not, but for what it's worth it provides a functional, fun and (mostly) balanced metagame.
Oh, and it's kinda funny how Kirbx wanted to lead the mass Exodus from Smogon, and is now complaining that their battle server is down.

They're back up, after a full week of being down. Apparently they were moving to new servers since the old ones were playing up. Unfortunately, large sections of their forums have been "pruned", and it may take some time before the whole thing is fully operational.
