Since you've based yours on international developments, I'd want to know what wars would have been resolved (Israel/Palestine? Libyan Uprising?) and what wars would have been created through international tensions. I'd also want to know about the nature of conflict and whether or not the way people do war has changed. I understand men besides the biological factor, but just because new technologies develop doesn't equate to a World War.
The first World War was a bunch of mindless bickering, and the second one was based on racism. IF WWIII happens, it'll be based on resources and the lack thereof, but we might be able to populate Mars or other planets before countries get desperate enough to fight over such things. That, and capitalism is held in too high of a regard among first-world countries for leaders wanting to break it. War would mean that their pockets can't be filled up as they would've been under peacetime (unless your country makes the war supplies for others, but this point is mute because the largest producing countries in the world like the US and China would most likely join in and be a part of the damaged areas). Western Europe and/or Japan would have to the supply the waring nations, and they wouldn't be able to do it on their own.
ww2 had nothing to do with racism. the third reich was supremely racist but racism itself had no impact on the war. the genocide only became public knowledge after 1945.
