i dont mind touchpads but i think mice are superior. id use a mouse on my laptop if it didnt mean forgoing gestures, which i cant live without.
also you fags wont know what touchpads are unless youve used one on a macbook. everything else will seem incredibly shitty in comparison.
mice are great for everything that isn't artwork. thank god for tablets.

I suggest a ball mouse, not just to be retro, but for legitimate reasons
-As with any mouse, you occasionally get to the edge of your desk or the maximum length of the cord with your mouse; then you have to pick it up and place it back in your reach. But with a slider mouse, when you do that, the mouse gets all crazy and jumps around the screen, no such thing happens with a ball mouse.
-Slider mice use lazer beams constantly, thus use more power.
-They are generally cheaper too.
The only downside to a ball mouse is you must use a mouse pad, which isn't much of a problem.

The most used keys on the keyboard is on the left side, but at the same time I try to use the touchpad with my left hand because that feels right to me, but that severely slows down my typing. So I'd rather use a mouse because that is completely controlled by my right hand, and I've learned to type with just my left hand (or I can type normally, which gets my WPM speed up to around 80).

though i understand why you wouldnt like it in the five seconds that youve used it. it takes some time getting used to, but once you do get used to it you can never go back to any other touchpad.
I can vouch that the mac touch pads are pretty awesome for what they are, especially in the functionality and customizable options.

I'm saying that my typing hand and scrolling hand are the same and so I literally have to stop what I'm currently doing to do the other function. It's a hassle to me.
Also, I find mice more precise and faster. It helps to be punctual while I'm programming.
Get a wireless optical mouse. It's very effective and you don't have to deal with pesky cords (personal preference).
I've used a Macbook trackpad and it's okay. Right now I'm using my HP Pavilion DM1 trackpad and so far so good, but when I do desk work on my laptop, I go for wireless mice.
