Just sticky this because from now on this wiill be the main thread here.

Recently I have decided to sweep the entire game with farfetch'd in leaf green, out of pure boredom. The biggest problem is its high level, as its traded so it doesn't listen to me sometimes. Thats why I needed a wing mate, I choose Primeape for its ability to take out rock types that farfetch'd gets owned by. Honestly you could probably sweep the whole game with just primape... but thats not what I do, all the gym leaders I take out with farfetch'd. Pretty hilarious I must say.

Also, I have been playing pokemon games with terrible pokemon. In Pearl for example, I have this team:

Lumineon
Bastiodon
Pachirusu
Chatot
Carnivine
Dustox

Chatot and Pachi are hands down the best pokemon on the team.

bastiodon and chatot are good in-game because of their positions in the team (and bastio is actully a tough cookie in any basic run)
