Allright, so Cowboys and Aliens. Warning SPOILERS






































I'm ambivalent about it. It wasn't Fantastic but I would say it was definitely watchable. The biggest thing it had going for it was it's premise. They knew this and banked on it. They could have made an even better movie, but knew they could cash in on premise alone. I Love Harrison Ford as much as the next heterosexual man, but it really wasn't his best performance.

That's not too say it's a bad movie. I don't generally like Daniel Craig, but I did in this movie, the Megan Fox stand in character had a real reason for being in the movie, and she wasn't a love interest for the main character and she didn't survive.

The cinematography was nice. The landscapes were panoramic and beautiful, with out being TOO old western/Lord of the Ringish. Some of the battles were exciting and it wasn't so fast paced that you couldn't really see what was going on like in a lot of recent films.

One thing that was interesting to me. Instead of having likeable characters from the start, most of the main characters were pretty douchey at the beginning of the movie. There was approximately ONE character that was not a total asshole (not counting the small child and the dog) and he was the first character to be killed off by aliens. BUT, the characters actually developed and as more of their personality came through they became more than tolerable.

One thing I liked about the main character. At first I thought I would hate him. He suffered from Cloud Syndrome. He seemed to be a Total Badass With No Personality at the beginning, but as it turned out, he did have some manner of backstory though it never really explained why this bank robber was a master unarmed fighter, able to defeat anyone.

The Aliens were nothing special. They looked like generic space aliens. The interior hands were noteworthy, and a little reminiscent of some facets of the AL!EN series. Their reason for Invading Cowboyland Earth was a little weak though.

That's about it I guess. A watchable movie but nothing to write home about.
