    Default US Debt Ceiling "Crisis"

Not going to lie, this is pretty fucking retarded, for BOTH sides. Even I, a radical liberal can see there needs to be a compromise where you do BOTH. The government needs to increase taxes AND cut spending, thats the only way you can save money without radical tax increases or huge cuts. But no, niether party want to get off there high horse and compromise.

Huge cuts could be made that wouldn't affect the quality of life for Joe Taxpayer one iota. Get rid of the TSA, get rid of Homeland Security, bring the troops home, downsize the detrimental federal department of education, the list goes on.

But why!? You do realize taxes are at there lowest rate in US history since the 20s. Why make huge as shit cuts for things we need such as education and the military, when you could go for a modest tax increase and modest cuts. It doesn't make any logical sense to not increase taxes and make big cuts, just for the sake of not increasing them.

Well... A lot of our military funding is superflous, there are billions of dollars that go into the military that are effectively lost. Not going into secret research or conspiracy crap, that would just be listed as classified, but no they just don't know where it goes. That's a prime example of something that can be cut.

Its research and development that we don't want other countries to know about. With out it, we would not have microwaves, computers, jet plans, video games, or the internet.

    Its no conspriracy.

There is wastefull spending anywhere, anyone can agree to cut it, but thats no reason to cut entire programs.

Anyway, the democrats gave up on taxing, no now we will only have moderate spending cuts, which will not be enough for cut the debt...

If Obama tried to reduce spending he'd initiate a constitutional crisis or something, at least that's the word on the street

To be honest, I know because the hoops they jumped to make sure he doesn't get elected, that they are racist. No one called Clinton a Marcist and doubted his citizenship.

They didn't doubt his citizenship because he's a White American. I'm pretty sure they called him a Marxist, they certainly called Franklin D. Roosevelt a Marxist so I don't think political slander is exactly racist.

no no, do you remember the gay bomb that the military tried to make. There is a lot of wasteful spending in the defense area. We are in a fucking recession and we lack blue collar jobs. Increasing taxes means not getting re-elected. I really would do something about companies going over seas. I figure one good thing can come out of this debt crisis.
If the US totally breaks down that will alow a 3rd party that has some ball to get in office and actually do something.

Cutting spending doesn't matter is you don't have the money to begin with. Its like a 5 person family, that refuses to let the mother work, and the dad is always complaining about the cost in food and how he can barely pay it. The solution should seem simple, make the mom work. Elected officals have to suck to up and increase taxes to a reasonable level that we haven't seen since the Clinton era.

And people please stop giving examples of things that cost too much and are useless, and using them as a way to somehow say you shouldn't increase taxes, because if you think about it, that doesn't make any logical sense. Thats just an arguement to cut spending on X thing, it has nothing to do with taxes.

Fact is there is no reason not to increase taxes aside from not getting elected, and besides, your elected to lead, not to obey. There is a very stricking diference between the 2.

Honestly think about it, "I don't want higher taxes because of the government spends too much money and we need to cut it." How much sense does that make?

'i dont want to pay more taxes just so the government can funnel it into useless publicly funded projects' makes plenty of sense

The government already said they will do there best to cut wasteful spending, and they are already are cutting semi-useful things. But they still need the money in the first place to get out of debt! First things first when your in a money, or any sort of crisis, saving is nice and all, but you still need the have something to save in the first place.

For example, when you are lost in the wilderness, the first thing you do, always, is find water, once you find the water, then and only then do you start worring about how to conserve it, clean it, how you use it, ect.

This is common sense stuff man.

Taxes can be raised but the government needs to show the people that their tax money won't go to useless things. The government has lost trust with the citizens.

please dont talk about common sense kirby

you act like your government currently has no source of revenue. there are still taxes. tax money can be used to repay the debt if the government cuts back on the ridiculous spending of said tax money. tax increases can help but that shouldnt be the priority.

your analogy is retarded and isnt really applicable to the current situation. a better analogy would be: you have a steady stream of water but you keep shitting in that water; stop shitting in it instead of praying for more water. of course youre going to need some water to clean your ass after you shit but this excessive shitting isnt helping anybody kirby. get your bowels checked out.

but why am i arguing this i dont really give a shit

or at least not as much as you

    see what i did there

The problem is Rayne, as stated much earlier Rayne, taxes are at an all time low for US history. It certainly has to do with the problem that we don't have enough money.
